Obesity is a metabolic dysfunction characterized by excessive body fat deposition as a consequence of an energy imbalance. Novel therapeutic strategies have emerged that are safe and have comparatively low side effects for obesity treatment. Functional foods and nutraceuticals have recently received a great deal of attention because of their components with the properties of antimetabolic syndrome.

Damage associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), including calreticulin (CRT) exposure, high-mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) elevation, and ATP release, characterize immunogenic cell death (ICD) and may play a role in cancer immunotherapy. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an immunogenic subtype of breast cancer with higher lymphocyte infiltration. Here, we found that regorafenib, a multi-target angiokinase inhibitor previously known to suppress STAT3 signaling, induced DAMPs and cell death in TNBC cells.

Background: The inner membrane mitochondrial protein (IMMT) is a central unit of the mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system (MICOS). While researchers continue to demonstrate the physiological function of IMMT in regulating mitochondrial dynamics and preserving mitochondrial structural integrity, the roles of IMMT in clinicopathology, the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), and precision oncology in breast cancer (BC) remain unclear.
Methods: Multi-omics analysis was used here to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic value of IMMT.

Early diagnosis and identification of prognostic markers for ovarian cancer can significantly improve survival and reduce mortality. The role of the YME1L1 signaling axis in genetic alterations and immune infiltration of the tumor microenvironment remains unclear. Bioinformatics web resources, including GEPIA2, cBioPortal, Oncomine, Kaplan-Meier Plotter, and TIMER, were used to analyze the expression profile, prognostic value, and immune infiltration of YME1L1.

Prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD) is the most common histological subtype of prostate cancer. Post-treatment biochemical recurrence is a challenging issue. ATAD1 (ATPase Family AAA Domain Containing 1) plays a vital role in mitochondrial proteostasis and apoptosis activity, while its clinical value in PRAD and its impact on the tumor microenvironment (TME) remain unanswered.

Background: Targeting the HGF/MET signaling pathway has been a viable therapeutic strategy for various cancer types due to hyperactivation of HGF/MET axis occurs frequently that leads to detrimental cancer progression and recurrence. Deciphering novel molecule mechanisms underlying complex HGF/MET signaling network is therefore critical to development of effective therapeutics for treating MET-dependent malignancies.

Background: Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive and molecularly heterogeneous non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The B cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway in DLBCL emerges as a new drug target. Protein phosphatase SHP-1 negatively regulates several oncogenic tyrosine kinases and plays a tumor suppressive role.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a popular noninvasive technique for modulating motor cortical plasticity and has therapeutic potential for the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD). However, the therapeutic benefits and related mechanisms of rTMS in PD are still uncertain. Accordingly, preclinical animal research is helpful for enabling translational research to explore an effective therapeutic strategy and for better understanding the underlying mechanisms.

Mounting evidence suggests that ferroptosis is not just a consequence but also a fundamental contributor to the development and progression of Parkinson's disease (PD). Ferroptosis is characterized as iron-dependent regulated cell death caused by excessive lipid peroxidation, leading to plasma membrane rupture, release of damage-associated molecular patterns, and neuroinflammation. Due to the crucial role of intracellular iron in mediating the production of reactive oxygen species and the formation of lipid peroxides, ferroptosis is intimately controlled by regulators involved in many aspects of iron metabolism, including iron uptake, storage and export, and by pathways constituting the antioxidant systems.
