A robust lensless optical data embedding system using both the computer-generated concealogram and the digital Fresnel hologram (DFH) is proposed. The concealogram and the DFH are cascaded as the input and filter planes, respectively. When the concealogram is illuminated by a plane wave, the hidden data can be extracted at the output plane without using any lenses.

A 2D complex Gabor-wavelet filter (CGWF) optical architecture based on the proposed Gaussian chirplet transform approach is presented together with its mathematical derivation. Far from the conventional setup schemes in which only the real part of the CGWF (even-symmetrical GWF) can be implemented optically, the proposed optical scheme shows that the real and also the imaginary part of the CGWF (odd-symmetrical GWF) can be achieved. The computer application simulations to the oriented edge feature extraction are given to validate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.

[Competition in school nursing: the development of the nursing role and its influences].

Hu Li Za Zhi

October 2008

Department of Nutrition and Health Science, Chung Chou Institute of Technology, Commission of School Nursing Development, School Nurses Association of the R.O.C.

This essay focuses on the competition between school nurses and the effect of such on the development of school nursing. As questions regarding the role that school nurses should play and what kind of functions they should have in school have yet to be answered, school nurses are sometimes considered as useless, with school healthcare suffering as a result. This essay first examines the development of professional school nursing in order to demonstrate the import role played by nurses in schools.

The study utilizes the method of Material Flow, Ecological Footprint Model and other related indicators to establish the Indicator System of Sustainable Development. Principal Component Analysis is used to abstract the representative factors in order to estimate the indicators of ecological sustainable development during 1998~2005 in Taiwan, as well as to make policy recommendations. The research indicates following results: (1) The Direct Material Input (DMI) of Taiwan shows constant instability and depends on heavy import activity.

August 2006

Department of Electronic Engineering, Chung Chou Institute of Technology, Yuan-lin, Chanchua, Taiwan.

A high performance lensless optical security system based on the discrete Fresnel transform is presented. Two phase-only masks are generated with what we believe to be a novel and efficient algorithm. Their position coordinates and the wavelength are used as encoding parameters in the encryption process.

Increased demand for fiber-optic technology has created significant growth in the sales of interconnection devices such as fiber-optic connectors, cable assemblies, and adapters. To ensure good connector performance during actual use, several process parameters related to geometric and optical characteristics of the connector must be thoroughly understood during the manufacturing stage. The experimental design has been used here to see the influence of applied pressure and time on the fiber end geometry as well as optical performance.
