Background: We designed a multi-institutional retrospective study to investigate the previously unreported failure pattern, survivals, and prognostic factors after postoperative radiotherapy (PORT) in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients in South Korea.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 699 patients with TNBC who underwent PORT at six institutions between 2008 and 2010. The median follow-up period was 94 months (range: 7-192 months).

Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging tick-borne disease caused by (SFTS virus [SFTSV]). Recently, at least 6 different genotypes of SFTSV have been identified, with genotypes A, D, and F dominant in China and B dominant in Japan and Korea. This study investigated the effect of SFTSV genotypes circulating in South Korea on disease severity, viral load, and cytokine profile.

Background: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) has become widely available but molecular profiling-guided therapy (MGT) had not been well established in the real world due to lack of available therapies and expertise to match treatment. Our study was designed to test the feasibility of a nationwide platform of NGS-guided MGT recommended by a central molecular tumor board (cMTB) for metastatic solid tumors.

Patients And Methods: Patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors with available NGS results and without standard treatment were enrolled.

Background: Hypertension-induced left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) increases end-diastolic LV pressure and contributes to left atrial enlargement (LAE), which are associated with development of atrial fibrillation. However, the impact of LVH and LAE and their regression following antihypertensive therapy on atrial fibrillation incidence remains unclear.

Methods: This retrospective analysis included consecutive patients with sinus rhythm who underwent echocardiography at hypertension diagnosis and after 6-18 months between 2006 and 2021 at tertiary care centres in Korea.

Background: Three-dimensionally printed titanium (3D-Ti) cages can be divided into 2 types: window-type cages, which have a void for bone graft, and non-window-type cages without a void. Few studies have investigated the necessity of a void for bone graft in fusion surgery. Therefore, the present study assessed the clinical and radiographic outcomes of window and non-window-type 3D-Ti cages in single-level posterior lumbar interbody fusion.

Biocompatibility and dimensional stability through the use of 3D-printed scaffolds made by polycaprolactone and bioglass-7: An in vitro and in vivo study.

Purpose: This experiment aimed to observe the differences in biological properties by producing BGS-7 + PCL scaffolds with different weight fractions of BGS-7 through 3D printing and to confirm whether using the scaffold for vertical bone augmentation is effective.

Materials And Methods: Cube-shaped bioglass (BGS-7) and polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffolds with different weight fractions (PCL alone, PCL with 15% and 30% BGS-7) are produced using 3D printing. The surface hydroxyapatite (HA) apposition, the pH change, proliferation and attachment assays, and various gene expression levels are assessed.

Elevated blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels induced by secondary causes are frequently observed. The identification and appropriate handling of these causes are essential for secondary dyslipidemia treatment. Major secondary causes of hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia include an unhealthy diet, diseases and metabolic conditions affecting lipid levels, and therapeutic side effects.
