Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a groundbreaking, non-invasive, and radiation-free imaging technique for continuous, real-time ventilation monitoring. It also has an application in pulmonary perfusion monitoring. EIT quantifies ventilation and perfusion patterns across the lung from the measurement and processing of impedance changes in the thorax.

Surgical aspects of choledochal cyst in children and adults: an experience of 106 cases.

Purpose: To describe clinical features of choledochal cyst (CC) patients in terms of demographic data, clinical presentation, investigations, treatment, and outcomes among children and adults.

Methods: The medical records of patients undergoing choledochal cyst (CC) surgery from 2002 to 2021 at a university hospital were retrospectively reviewed. The patients were divided into two groups: children (< 15 years) and adults (≥ 15 years).

A PM crisis in Thailand has caused the Thai government and public to be increasingly concerned about children's exposure to PM during time in school. This study is a part of a project to create a modeled effective school indoor air quality management for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). We measured air quality and environment in 10 Bangkok school rooms, including CO, CO, O, PM, PM, TVOC, formaldehyde, airborne bacteria and fungi, and gaseous organic contaminants.

Background: Thoracic endovascular repair has become the standard treatment for blunt thoracic aortic injury (BTAI). Occlusion of the left subclavian artery (LSA) is generally required for an adequate landing zone (ALZ). We propose that coverage of the LSA is not necessary for BTAI even with a short landing zone (SLZ).

Several epidemiological studies pointed out an association between quality of residential in inner city and risk of children health. However, few studies had been focused in high-polluted urban area in low to middle income countries.

Background: The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) emphasizes constructive feedback as a critical component of residency training. Despite over a decade of using competency-based milestone evaluations, emergency medicine (EM) residency programs lack a standardized method for assessing the quality of feedback. We developed two novel EM-specific feedback surveys to assess the quality of feedback in the ER (FEED-ER) from both the resident and the faculty perspectives.

The aim of this study was to explore the effects of and gene polymorphisms and the methotrexate (MTX) treatment response in patients with low-risk gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN). Low-risk GTN patients who received MTX as a first-line single agent were enrolled. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples from 18 patients and assessed for C3435T and T521C.

/LKB1 Mutations in NSCLC Are Associated with KEAP1/NRF2-Dependent Radiotherapy Resistance Targetable by Glutaminase Inhibition.

Purpose: Radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy is a mainstay of treatment for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but no predictive markers are currently available to select patients who will benefit from these therapies. In this study, we investigated the association between alterations in /LKB1, the second most common tumor suppressor in NSCLC, and response to radiotherapy as well as potential therapeutic approaches to improve outcomes.

Experimental Design: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 194 patients with stage I-III NSCLC, including 164 stage III patients bearing mutant or wild-type /LKB1 treated with radiotherapy, and assessed locoregional recurrence (LRR), distant metastasis rates, disease-free survival (DFS), and overall survival (OS), and we investigated the causal role of LKB1 in mediating radiotherapy resistance using isogenic pairs of NSCLC cell lines with LKB1 loss or gain.

A predictive model of radiation-related fibrosis based on the radiomic features of magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography.

Background: To establish a predictive model for the fibrotic level of neck muscles after radiotherapy by using radiomic features extracted from the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) before and after radiotherapy and planning computed tomography (CT) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.

Methods: A total of one hundred and eighty-six patients were finally enrolled in this study. According to the specific standard, all patients were divided into three different fibrosis groups.

In -mutant lung adenocarcinoma, tumors with LKB1 loss (KL) are highly enriched for concurrent mutations, which activate the KEAP1/NRF2 pathway (KLK). Here, we investigated the biological consequences of these cooccurring alterations and explored whether they conferred specific therapeutic vulnerabilities. Compared with KL tumors, KLK tumors exhibited increased expression of genes involved in glutamine metabolism, the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and the redox homeostasis signature.
