Objectives: Homonegativity adversely affects the health and well-being of homosexuals in society, making it vital to identify factors associated with it. This study investigates whether active membership in voluntary organizations correlates with homonegativity, examining how this varies by gender and age.
Methods: Using the World Values Survey data (2017-2022) from 87,777 participants in 63 countries, we performed binary logistic regression to assess relationships between homonegativity and factors including socioeconomic status, demographics, and voluntary activity participation.

Objective: Despite implementing hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) and vaccination, data suggest it would not be sufficient to reach the elimination targets. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) has been added to the Thai national standards of care for prevention of transmission of the hepatitis B virus during birth. To optimise national strategies in Thailand, we assessed TDF's effectiveness for prevention of mother-to-child transmission and conducted cost-effectiveness analyses of different TDF-based strategies.

Some research suggests that distress, secondary to isolation and fear following COVID-19 infection, can negatively affect the long-term more than the COVID-19 infection itself. This narrative review aims to provide a global view on the neuropsychiatric consequences of COVID-19 that can be ascribed to several factors, ranging from the direct effect of infection, to the body's responses against the infection, or to the psychological sequelae of social isolation, unemployment, and fear for one's health and livelihood. Current findings show that the more severe the respiratory infection, the more likely are central nervous system (CNS) complications regarding the infection itself.

Over the past years, lung cancer has been one of the vital cancer-related mortalities worldwide and has inevitably exhibited the highest death rate with the subsequent need for facile and convenient diagnosis approaches to identify the severity of cancer. Previous research has reported long-chain aldehyde compounds such as hexanal, heptanal, octanal, and nonanal as potential biomarkers of lung cancer. Herein, the helicene dye-encapsulated ethyl cellulose () nanosensors have been applied for the potentially sensitive and specific detection of long-chain aldehydes in aqueous media.

Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in adults (MIS-A) has been reported as a rare but severe consequence of COVID-19 infection. Adult patients were more likely to present with hypotension and cardiac illness when compared with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. Although the exact prevalence of MIS-A is unknown, more cases have been observed in men and younger adults.

This international multidisciplinary document intends to provide clinicians with evidence-based practical patient-centered recommendations for evaluating patients and decedents with (aborted) sudden cardiac arrest and their families. The document includes a framework for the investigation of the family allowing steps to be taken, should an inherited condition be found, to minimize further events in affected relatives. Integral to the process is counseling of the patients and families, not only because of the emotionally charged subject, but because finding (or not finding) the cause of the arrest may influence management of family members.

Environmental exposure to moderate-to-high levels of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) is associated with nephrotoxicity. In comparison, the health impacts of chronic low-level exposure to Cd and Pb remain controversial. The aim of this study was to therefore evaluate kidney dysfunction associated with chronic low-level exposure to Cd and Pb in a population of residents in Bangkok, Thailand.

Introduction: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) anterior uveitis is a recognised cause of anterior uveitis in immunocompetent patients and is preventable cause of vision loss. Ocular sequelae include corneal endothelial damage which can cause corneal oedema and failure, as well as glaucoma. Recurrences of inflammation are common and therefore patients are often exposed to long-term therapy.

Background: Striatin and caveolin-1 (cav-1) are scaffolding/regulating proteins that are associated with salt-sensitive high blood pressure and promote renal sodium and water reabsorption, respectively. The mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) interacts with striatin and cav-1, while aldosterone increases striatin and cav-1 levels. However, no data have been reported for the levels of these proteins in the kidney.
