Introduction: Self-adhesive resin cements (SARCs) are widely used for fixed prostheses. These cements and their eluted products may affect periodontal tissues. This study aimed to investigate the response of human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) to eluates from SARCs in vitro, simulating clinical conditions after prosthesis fixation, to gain insights into their potential effects on gingival health.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a therapeutic lifestyle modification (TLM) intervention on health-related quality of life, sexual functioning and cardiometabolic health in perimenopausal Chinese women.
Method: The study was a randomized controlled trial (registration number: ChiCTR2300070648). Ninety-four perimenopausal women aged between 40 and 55 years were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive the TLM intervention or usual care for 12 weeks.

Objective: Reductions in psychological resilience and declining cognition are common among older adults. Understanding the longitudinal association between them could be beneficial for interventions that focus on age-related cognitive and psychological health. In this study, we evaluated the longitudinal associations between cognition and psychological resilience over time in a nationally representative sample of US older adults.

Exploring dietary methods to alter microbial communities and metabolic functions is becoming an increasingly fascinating strategy for improving health. Copra meal hydrolysate (CMH) is alternatively used as a gut health supplement. However, the functional diversity and metabolic activities in gut microbiome in relation to CMH treatment remain largely unknown.

Thua nao, a traditional Thai fermented soybean, offers a unique aroma and nutritional value. However, fresh thua nao cannot be stored for long periods due to its high in water activity (a). This study examined the effects of various drying methods, including natural sun drying and machine drying methods, namely hot air, microwave vacuum (MIC), and vacuum drying on the qualities of dried black soybean thua nao.

Background: Hyperphosphatemia poses a significant risk for cardiovascular diseases and mortality in hemodialysis patients. Non-adherence to phosphate binders and a low-phosphate diet behavior contribute to this issue. Leveraging psychological and behavior change theories has proven effective in addressing many health risks.

Background: Women migrant workers are vulnerable to violence. Violence against women is a pervasive public health problem, violates women's rights, and may adversely affect women's quality of life (QoL) and mental health. However, few studies have focused on this problem among migrant women workers from Myanmar.

Mechanical forces control a multitude of biological responses in various cells and tissues. The periodontal ligament, located between the tooth's root and alveolar bone, is a major tissue compartment that is incessantly subjected to such mechanical stimulation through either normal or abnormal oral functionality. It is now known that mechanical stimulation activates periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) to modulate periodontal immunity and regulate inflammation - a basic feature of periodontal disease that affects virtually every human during their lifetime.

Background: Biliary tuberculosis is a rare type of hepatobiliary tuberculosis. Clinical presentation, imaging, or cholangiogram are difficult to distinguish from other common causes of cholangiopathy or malignancy. Direct visualization of bile duct via cholangioscopy and targeted biopsy was introduced as one of effective investigations for tissue acquisition and diagnosis.

Recently, experimental observation has shown that the substitutional alloy (Ce,La)H can be successfully synthesized under high pressure, approximately 90-170 GPa, and become a superconductor with a high critical temperature () superconductivity in ternary rare-earth clathrate hydrides between 148-178 K. In this work, we theoretically simplified the hydride alloy (Ce,La)H, a compound in a series that could function as a potential superconductor, with CeLaH exhibiting strong electron-phonon coupling (EPC). The CeLaH alloy is scrutinized for its lattice dynamical stability in the pressure range of 100 to 150 GPa.

Soft skills encompass interpersonal abilities and values that enable individuals to adapt to diverse circumstances. In dentistry, a combination of soft and hard skills is crucial for successful practice and for achieving health care organization goals. However, dental schools face significant challenges in teaching and evaluating soft skills, including the subjective nature of assessment, variability in student engagement, and the lack of standardized curricula.

Background: Cervical cancer remains a significant global health concern, ranking as the fourth most prevalent cancer among women worldwide. Human papillomaviruses (HPV) transcribe many genes that might be responsible for cervical cancer development. This study aims to investigate the correlation between the expression of HPV16 early genes and the mRNA expression of human FOXO3a, a tumor suppressor gene, in association with various stages of cervical precancerous lesions.

Introduction And Objectives: FibroTouch® has shown efficacy in staging hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis B, but its performance in assessing liver steatosis and fibrosis in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) patients remains understudied. We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of FibroTouch® in assessing steatosis and fibrosis in the MASLD population.
Materials And Methods: Liver stiffness measurements and steatosis were assessed using FibroTouch® and FibroScan®, with FibroScan® as the reference standard.
