Patients with prior SARS-CoV-2 infections can develop chronic symptoms; this clinical presentation has been called post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, post-COVID condition, and long COVID. It can develop in both outpatient cases and in hospital cases; the frequency depends on the severity of infection and comorbidity. Many of these patients have exercise limitation when tested using cardiopulmonary exercise tests.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a complex, chronic pain syndrome characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and cognitive disturbances. Despite its prevalence, the pathophysiology of FM remains poorly understood, with current treatments often providing limited relief. Recent studies have suggested that metformin, a widely used antidiabetic drug, may have potential therapeutic benefits for chronic pain conditions, including FM.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is frequently associated with hypopituitarism. The hypothalamic-pituitary axis appears to be susceptible to the same forces that cause injury to the parenchyma of the brain. Following even a mild TBI (mTBI), patients may suffer transient or permanent decreases in anterior pituitary hormones, including somatotropin (growth hormone [GH]), gonadotropins (luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone), thyrotropin, and adrenocorticotropic hormone, with the most frequent long-term deficiency being GH deficiency (GHD).

The solitary fibrous tumor of the pleura (SFTP) is a rare intrathoracic neoplasm that commonly originates from the subpleural mesenchymal cells of the visceral pleura and accounts for less than 5% of all pleural tumors. We reported a case of a 54-year-old man with a two-week history of hypoglycemia, a six-month history of productive cough and fatigue, and chronic right chest pain. Radiological techniques revealed a giant intra-thoracic mass with hypervascularization, and pathological staining was carried out to make a definitive diagnosis of SFTP.

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a debilitating multifactorial illness characterized by profound fatigue persisting for more than six months, post-exertional malaise, cognitive impairments, and a range of systemic symptoms. Until now, no accepted causal treatment regimens have been available; therapeutic options include different approaches, such as alleviation of symptoms and promotion of energy conservation. In this study, we report the case of a 49-year-old female presented to our center suffering from ME/CFS for more than 15 years, characterised by a strong energy loss and neurological and systemic symptoms; previous therapies remained unsuccessful.

Introduction: Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a disabling condition that can affect adolescents during a vulnerable period of development. The underlying biological mechanisms for ME/CFS remain unclear and have rarely been investigated in the adolescent population, despite this period representing an age peak in the overall incidence. The primary objective of this is to provide a foundational set of biological data on adolescent ME/CFS patients.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, many patients have reported chronic fatigue and severe post-exertional malaise, with symptoms similar to those of myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). The accumulation of agonistic receptor autoantibodies targeting beta-adrenergic (β1 and β2) and muscarinic (M3 and M4) neurotransmitter receptors may play a crucial role in the pathomechanism of both ME/CFS and post-COVID conditions. Therapeutic apheresis has been suggested as an effective treatment option for alleviating and mitigating symptoms in this desperate group of patients.
