Pituitary apoplexy is a rare and severe complication of pituitary adenoma that may present with new-onset headache, ocular palsy, visual disturbances, life-threatening electrolyte imbalance, and endocrinological disturbances due to pituitary hemorrhage and/or infarction. We report the case of a 58-year-old previously healthy patient who developed isolated mild oculomotor nerve palsy of the left eye following osteosynthesis of a traumatic right distal radius fracture. Initial cerebral magnetic resonance imaging showed a pituitary macroadenoma without characteristic signs of pituitary infarction or hemorrhage.

People with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) have an increased risk of infection. As disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) and other treatments may interact with the immune system, there may be concerns about vaccine efficacy and safety. Therefore, it is important to evaluate possible interactions between DMTs and vaccines.

We report a case of an emmetropic woman with excessive daytime sleepiness in alternation with insomnia consistent with the diagnosis criteria of a non-24 h sleep-wake disorder. After being refractory to the usual non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatment, we detected a deficiency of vitamin B12, vitamin D3, and folic acid. Substitution of these treatments led to a return of a 24 h sleep-wake rhythm though this remained independent from the external light-dark cycle.

In Eagle syndrome, elongated styloid processes may provoke internal carotid dissection and pseudoaneurysm causing stroke and data regarding possible complications or long-term results of pseudoaneurysm treatment using a flow diverter are limited. We report a case of a dissection-related pseudoaneurysm in the left cervical carotid artery treated by implantation of a flow diverter. Follow-up imaging of the flow diverter showed fracture of a continuous radiopaque marker at 3 months and fracture of a second continuous radiopaque marker at 7 months, while contrasting of the vessel was preserved.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory, demyelinating and neurodegenerative disorder of the central nervous system. Disease-modifying drugs (DMDs) and subsequent adherence are crucial for preventing reversible episodes of neurological dysfunction and delayed onset of progressive accumulation of irreversible deficits. Yet, side effects may limit their usage in clinical practice.

Paroxysmal Atrial fibrillation (AF) is often clinically silent and may be missed by the usual diagnostic workup after ischemic stroke. We aimed to determine whether shape characteristics of ischemic stroke lesions can be used to predict AF in stroke patients without known AF at baseline. Lesion shape quantification on brain MRI was performed in selected patients from the intervention arm of the (MonDAFIS) study, which included patients with ischemic stroke or TIA without prior AF.

In humans, several respiratory viruses can have neurologic implications affecting both central and peripheral nervous system. Neurologic manifestations can be linked to viral neurotropism and/or indirect effects of the infection due to endothelitis with vascular damage and ischemia, hypercoagulation state with thrombosis and hemorrhages, systemic inflammatory response, autoimmune reactions, and other damages. Among these respiratory viruses, recent and huge attention has been given to the coronaviruses, especially the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic started in 2020.

The assessment of cognitive deficits is pivotal for diagnosis and management in patients with parkinsonisms. Low levels of correspondence are observed between evaluations assessed with screening cognitive tests in comparison with those assessed with in-depth neuropsychological batteries. A new tool, we named CoMDA (Cognition in Movement Disorders Assessment), was composed by merging Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB).

Background: The pathological mechanism in acute spinal cord injury (SCI) is dual sequential: the primary mechanical lesion and the secondary injury due to a cascade of biochemical and pathological changes initiated by the primary lesion. Therapeutic approaches have focused on modulating the mechanisms of secondary injury. Despite extensive efforts in the treatment of SCI, there is yet no causal, curative treatment approach available.

Introduction: Upon completion of the workup for stroke, etiology cannot be identified in approximately one-third of the patients, with an embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) accounting for around 50% of these cryptogenic etiologies. Whether management of complex long-term monitoring in order to detect suspected atrial fibrillation (AFib) could be initiated and managed through a neurologist is not sufficiently investigated.
Patients And Methods: We recruited all consecutive patients with ESUS who received implantation after neurological adjudication of Reveal LINQ loop recorder between January 2016 and July 2020.
