Drought, as an abiotic stressor, globally limits cereal productivity, leading to early aging of leaves and lower yields. The expression of the isopentenyl transferase (IPT) gene, which is involved in cytokinin (CK) biosynthesis, can delay drought-induced leaf senescence. In this study, the Agrobacterium Isopentenyl transferase (IPT) gene was introduced into two local hexaploid wheat cultivars, NR-421 and FSD-2008.

Covalent organic frameworks are a novel class of porous polymers, notable for their crystalline structure, intricate frameworks, defined pore sizes, and capacity for structural design, synthetic control, and functional customization. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of graph entropies and hybrid topological descriptors, derived from geometric, harmonic, and Zagreb indices. These descriptors are applied to study two variations of Marta covalent organic frameworks based on contorted hexabenzocoronenes.

Introduction: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are associated with severe gastrointestinal irritation upon prolonged use, largely due to their carboxylic (-- COOH) functional group.
Aim: To address this issue, we aimed to synthesize diclofenac conjugates with glucosamine and chitosan, converting the -COOH group into an amide (-CONH-) via a mechanochemical, environmentally friendly method.
Method: In this study, diclofenac acid was first converted to its acid chloride using thionyl chloride under mechanochemical conditions and subsequently reacted with glucosamine base and chitosan.

In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on the "back-to-nature" movement, which has brought biopolymers derived from natural sources into the spotlight. These biopolymers are gaining attention for their versatile surface-active properties, anti-adhesive capabilities, excellent biocompatibility, non-toxicity, biodegradability, and antimicrobial effectiveness against a wide range of oral microorganisms, including both bacteria and fungi. Researchers have been actively modifying these eco-friendly, nature-based biopolymers to enhance their interaction with surrounding cells and tissues, improving their performance in vivo.

The current research focused on extraction optimization of bioactive compounds from Strychnos potatorum seeds (SPs) using an eco-friendly glycerol-sodium acetate based deep eutectic solvent (DES). The optimization was accomplished using response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural networking (ANN). The independent variables included shaking time (A), temperature (B), and solvent-to-feed ratio (C), and the responses were the extraction yield, total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), antioxidant activity (DPPH), and antidiabetic activity (α-amylase inhibitory activity).

Purpose: The growing number of athletes diagnosed with cancer requires a better understanding of their background, experiences, and specific goals to provide personalized care. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the lived experiences of collegiate athletes in the United States diagnosed with cancer, reflecting on various barriers and challenges because of their cancer diagnosis, as they relate to their athletic participation and educational experiences.
Methods: This qualitative study used a phenomenological approach to study the nature and states of lived experiences in collegiate athlete cancer survivors diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 10 and 39 years old.

Neuromuscular diseases (NMD) are a group of neurological diseases that manifest with various clinical symptoms affecting different components of the peripheral nervous system, which play a role in voluntary body movements control. The primary objective of this study is to explore the diagnostic efficacy of a combined genetic and biochemical testing approach for patients with neuromuscular diseases with diverse presentations in a population with high rate of consanguinity. Genetic testing was performed using selected Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) gene panels and whole exome sequencing on the peripheral blood sample from the patients.

Classification of viruses carries important implications in terms of understanding their evolution and the designing of interventions. This study introduces ViroNia as a novel LSTM-based system specifically meant for high-accuracy classification of viral proteins. Although originally developed for generative tasks, LSTM architectures have been found to be highly efficient for classification tasks as well; the model demonstrates this capability.

Objective: To compare the proportion of small-for-gestational age (SGA) infants detected by routine care versus a growth assessment protocol using customized fundal-height charts in low-risk pregnancies of a developing country.
Methods: An open label randomized controlled trial was conducted at the Fatima Memorial Hospital (NUR International University, Pakistan). Low-risk pregnant women were randomly allocated to routine care (Mcdonald's rule for fundal height measurements followed by referral for scan with discrepancy of 3 cm from gestational age and a contingency third trimester scan) or the growth assessment protocol (GAP) developed by the Perinatal Institute (UK), which consists of the use of gestation-related optimal weight (GROW) customized charts, alongside management protocols for suspected SGA fetuses, audit tools and training.

This research highlights the facile green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Phoenix dactylifera seed extracts and its photocatalytic application for the degradation of toxic dyes. The AgNPs synthesis was confirmed by the appearance of its representative absorption peak at 416 nm in UV-visible absorption spectroscopy. Moreover, the reduction of silver ions to Ag was justified through Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.
