The SNP-HLA Reference Consortium (SHLARC), a component of the 18th International HLA and Immunogenetics Workshop, is aimed at collecting diverse and extensive human leukocyte antigen (HLA) data to create custom reference panels and enhance HLA imputation techniques. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have significantly contributed to identifying genetic associations with various diseases. The HLA genomic region has emerged as the top locus in GWAS, particularly in immune-related disorders.

For analytical method development, a systematic screening of columns and mobile phases to develop a separation via enantiomerically selective high performance liquid chromatography was performed. Information processed in our sensory neocortical areas is transported to the hippocampus during memory encoding, and between hippocampus and neocortex during memory consolidation, and retrieval. Short bursts of high-frequency oscillations, so called sharp-wave-ripples, have been proposed as a potential mechanism for this information transfer: They can synchronize neural activity to support the formation of local neural networks to store information, and between distant cortical sites to act as a bridge to transfer information between sensory cortical areas and hippocampus. In neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's Disease, different neuropathological processes impair normal neural functioning and neural synchronization as well as sharp-wave-ripples, which impairs consolidation and retrieval of information, and compromises memory.

In this short case presentation, we describe the unique appearance of a fully erupted mandibular wisdom tooth in a 72-year-old patient whose tooth exhibited gemination. Both innate errors of immunity, such as familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) and chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), and the common inflammatory disease gout are characterized by episodes of sterile inflammatory attacks in the absence of an infection. While these disorders encompass distinct pathologies due to differentially affected metabolic pathways and inflammasome activation mechanisms, their common features are the excessive production of interleukin (IL)-1ß and innate immune cell hyperreactivity. Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine is well known for inducing trained immunity in myeloid and natural killer cells, which can explain its cross-protective effect against heterologous infections. Current classifications (World Health Organization-HAEM5/ICC) define up to 26 molecular B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL) disease subtypes by genomic driver aberrations and corresponding gene expression signatures. Identification of driver aberrations by transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq) is well established, while systematic approaches for gene expression analysis are less advanced. Therefore, we developed ALLCatchR, a machine learning-based classifier using RNA-Seq gene expression data to allocate BCP-ALL samples to all 21 gene expression-defined molecular subtypes.
