Monoclonal IgG antibodies constitute the fastest growing class of therapeutics. Thus, there is an intense interest to design more potent antibody formats, where long plasma half-life is a commercially competitive differentiator affecting dosing, frequency of administration and thereby potentially patient compliance. Here, we report on an Fc-engineered variant with three amino acid substitutions Q311R/M428E/N434W (REW), that enhances plasma half-life and mucosal distribution, as well as allows for needle-free delivery across respiratory epithelial barriers in human FcRn transgenic mice.

The entomopathogenic nematode Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, symbiotically associated with enterobacteria of the genus Photorhabdus, is a biological control agent against many insect pests. Dauer Juveniles (DJ) of this nematode are produced in industrial-scale bioreactors up to 100 m in liquid culture processes lasting approximately 11 days. A high DJ yield (> 200,000 DJ·mL) determines the success of the process.

Isolation procedures were based on standard methods using elective and selective media. Objectives: Although the recommendations of the European Academy of Neurology/Movement Disorder Society European Section guideline for invasive therapies of PD are useful, the different clinical profiles of people with PD who seek advice for possible invasive therapy need further attention.
Methods And Results: Here we describe 8 clinical standard situations of people with PD unsatisfied with their current oral treatment where invasive therapies may be considered.
