Background: In this study, we developed and validated machine learning models to predict primary aldosteronism (PA) in hypertensive East-Asian patients, comparing their performance against the traditional saline infusion test. The motivation for this development arises from the need to provide a more efficient and standardized diagnostic approach, because the saline infusion test, although considered a gold standard, is often cumbersome, is time-consuming, and lacks uniform protocols. By offering an alternative diagnostic method, this study seeks to enhance patient care through quicker and potentially more reliable PA detection.

Trastuzumab is now increasingly being used as a potent HER2 inhibitor in treating breast cancer, while acneiform rashes sometimes arise as skin-related side effects in patients undergoing treatment with HER2 inhibitors, and their specificity as drug-induced eruptions makes their management quite challenging. Pulsed dye laser (PDL) therapy has been utilized to treat a wide variety of vascular lesions, achieving excellent outcomes. Solar-driven CO photoreduction holds promise for sustainable fuel and chemical productions, but the complex proton-coupled multi-electron transfer processes and sluggish oxidation half-reaction kinetics substantially hinder its efficiency. Here, we devised a rational catalyst design to address these challenges by fabricating ferrocene carboxylic acid-functionalized CsSbBr nanocrystals (CSB-Fc NCs), which facilitate simultaneous benzyl alcohol oxidation and CO reduction reactions under visible-light irradiation. Neurotransmitters are increasingly recognized to play important roles in limiting anti-tumor immunity. N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamate (NAAG) has been extensively studied in neurological disorders; however, its potential role in restricting anti-tumor immunity has not been investigated. Here, we demonstrated that NAAG or its synthetase RimK-like family member B (RIMKLB) significantly disrupted anti-tumor immunity by rewiring the myeloid progenitor differentiation of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSCs), which in turn promoted breast cancer growth and metastasis.
