Bioceramics for Guided Bone Regeneration: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial.

Objectives: To compare the clinical effectiveness of a novel bioceramic (BC) with a control xenograft (BO) for guided bone regeneration (GBR) performed simultaneously with implant placement.

Materials And Methods: This clinical study enrolled patients with insufficient bone volume who required GBR during implant placement to increase bone width using either BC or BO. Outcome measures included a dimensional reduction in buccal bone thickness measured by cone beam computed tomography performed immediately post-surgery and at 6 months postoperatively (ΔHBBT), soft tissue healing at 14 days, 1 month, and 6 months postoperatively, and complications rates.

This therapy is commonly used in the treatment of various conditions such as autism and Parkinson's disease. However, there is limited reporting on the use of foot reflexology therapy for infants with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL).

Effects of Astragalus polysaccharide on the structure and function of skeletal muscle in D-galactose-induced C57BL/6J mice.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Astragalus polysaccharide (APS) on skeletal muscle structure and function in D-galactose (D-gal)-induced C57BL/6J mice.

Methods: Eighteen male C57BL/6J mice of specific pathogen-free (SPF) grade, aged 8 weeks, were selected and divided into three groups: a control group (0.9% saline gavage for 16 weeks), a D-gal group (subcutaneous injection of 200 mg/kg D-galactose in the upper neck region, once daily for 8 weeks), and a D-gal + APS group (subcutaneous injection of 200 mg/kg D-galactose, once daily for 8 weeks, with concurrent administration of 100 mg/kg APS by gavage for 8 weeks).

Clinical superiority of 3D-assisted percutaneous nephrolithotomy in treating complex upper urinary tract calculi: a single-center study.

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of three-dimensional (3D) visualization technology assisted percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in the treatment of complex upper urinary tract calculi.

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 127 patients with complex upper urinary tract stones admitted to Yongchuan Hospital, Chongqing Medical University from January 2020 to January 2023. According to the treatment methods, the patients were divided into an observation group (3D visualization technology assisted PCNL, n = 69) and a control group (conventional PCNL, n = 58).

With the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic, using high-flow nasal oxygen with a heated humidifier has become an emerging form of non-invasive support among clinicians.

Landscapes of gut microbiome and blood metabolomic signatures in relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis.

Although disturbances in the gut microbiome have been implicated in multiple sclerosis (MS), little is known about the changes and interactions between the gut microbiome and blood metabolome, and how these changes affect disease-modifying therapy (DMT) in preventing the progression of MS. In this study, the structure and composition of the gut microbiota were evaluated using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and an untargeted metabolomics approach was used to compare the serum metabolite profiles from patients with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) and healthy controls (HCs). Results indicated that RRMS was characterized by phase-dependent α-phylogenetic diversity and significant disturbances in serum glycerophospholipid metabolism.
