Objectives: To develop and validate the performance of CT-based radiomics models for predicting the prognosis of acute pancreatitis.
Methods: All 344 patients (51 ± 15 years, 171 men) in a first episode of acute pancreatitis (AP) were retrospectively enrolled and randomly divided into training (n = 206), validation (n = 69), and test (n = 69) sets with the ratio of 6:2:2. The patients were dichotomized into good and poor prognosis subgroups based on follow-up CT and clinical data.

We evaluated the prognostic and therapeutic significance of measurable residual disease (MRD) during remission induction in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients. In the CCCG-ALL-2015 protocol, 7640 patients were categorized into low-, intermediate-, or high-risk groups based on clinical and genetic features. Final risk classification was determined by MRD assessed via flow cytometry on Days 19 and 46 of remission induction, with additional intensified chemotherapy for Day 19 MRD ≥1%.

Metabolic reprogramming of tumor cells dynamically reshapes the distribution of nutrients and signals in the tumor microenvironment (TME), affecting intercellular interactions and resulting in metabolic immune suppression. Increased glucose uptake and metabolism are characteristic of many tumors. Meanwhile, the progression of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) relies on lipid metabolism.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) demonstrates significant potential in cancer treatment, wound healing, and antibacterial therapy, with its efficacy largely depending on the performance of photothermal agents (PTAs). Metal-phenolic network (MPN) materials are ideal PTA candidates due to their low cost, good biocompatibility and excellent ligand-to-metal charge transfer properties. However, not all MPNs exhibit significant photothermal properties, and the vast chemical space of MPNs (over 700,000 potential combinations) complicates the screening of high-photothermal materials.

Background: Coronary thrombosis is a serious cardiovascular complication of Kawasaki disease (KD), and recurrence of coronary thrombosis increases the short-term risk of myocardial infarction and the long-term risk of coronary artery disease. However, there are currently no studies predicting the recurrence of coronary thrombosis, so the aim of this study was to develop and validate a nomogram to predict recurrent coronary thrombosis in KD patients.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of data from 149 KD patients who had a history of previous coronary disease at the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from 2013 to 2020.

Although loneliness and social isolation are proposed as important risk factors for metabolic diseases, their associations with the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) have not been elucidated. The aims of this study were to determine whether loneliness and social isolation are independently associated with the risk of NAFLD and to explore potential mediators for the observed associations. In this large prospective cohort analysis with 405,073 participants of the UK Biobank, the status of loneliness and social isolation was assessed through self-administrated questionnaires at study recruitment.

Efferocytosis in macrophages typically engages an anti-inflammatory positive feedback regulatory mechanism. In osteoarthritis (OA), characterized by imbalanced inflammatory homeostasis, the proinflammatory state of macrophages in the immune microenvironment can be reversed through enhanced efferocytosis. This study develops an in situ proefferocytosis hydrogel microsphere (macrophage polarity converter, H-C@IL) for OA treatment.

Ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide repeat on chromosome X (UTX) is a chromatin modifier responsible for regulating the demethylation of histone H3 lysine 27 trimethylation (H3K27me3), which is crucial for human neurodevelopment. To date, the impact of UTX on neurodevelopment remains elusive. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the potential molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of UTX on neurodevelopment through untargeted metabolomics based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS).
