In a meta-study, we evaluated the effectiveness and security of the combination of topical anaesthetic and dexmedetomidine in the treatment of postoperative pain in patients with lumbar disease. Four databases were systematically searched for possible related articles. Only English-language research was taken into account on the Internet.

Midshaft (mid)-clavicle fractures are the most common type of clavicle fractures. The Kirschner wire (KW) and anatomic plate (AP) are two commonly used surgical treatment methods for mid-clavicle fractures, of which the use of an AP appears to be a more effective option. The present study performed a meta-analysis of a number of published studies on the treatment of mid-clavicle fractures with APs and KWs, in order to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the two treatments, so as to select a more effective treatment approach.

Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Chongqing Dazu District People's Hospital, No. 1073 Erhuan South Road, Tangxiang Street, Dazu County, Chongqing, 402360, China.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been reported to play vital roles in atherosclerosis. However, the precise roles of circUBR4 in atherosclerosis remain unclear. The purpose of this study is to investigate the regulatory roles of circUBR4 in atherosclerosis.

Introduction: An acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a very serious type of heart attack and a profoundly life-threatening medical emergency, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the preferred strategy. However, in patients undergoing primary PCI, 30% to 40% may suffer the no-reflow phenomenon (NRP), and it could expand the myocardial infarction area and accompanied with high rehospitalization rate and fatality rate. In this study, we try to conduct a double blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to observe whether the prophylactically intracoronary administration of Nicorandil could reduce the occurrence of NRP in STEMI patients undergoing PCI.

White Tip Silver Needle (Slightly Fermented White Tea) Flavonoids Help Prevent Aging via Antioxidative and Anti-Inflammatory Effects.

Drug Des Devel Ther

October 2021

Chongqing Collaborative Innovation Center for Functional Food, Chongqing University of Education, Chongqing, 400067, People's Republic of China.

Aim: White tip silver needle, a slightly fermented white tea, is abundant in flavonoids, and it has great significance in terms of D-galactose/lipopolysaccharide-induced aging in mice.

Methods: We analyzed the antioxidant capacity of white tip silver needle flavonoids (WTSNF) in vitro, assessed the effects of WTSNF on organ indexes, pathological changes, liver function indexes, biochemical indicators, molecular biological indicators, and genes related to oxidation and inflammation.

Results: Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry results showed that WTSNF contained baicalin, kaempferol, kaempferide, quercetin, isorhamnetin, lespenephryl, and rutin.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effects of coronary granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) on rats with chronic ischemic heart disease (CIHD).

Methods: Thirty healthy rats were randomly divided into control, subcutaneous and intracoronary G-CSF injection groups ( = 10) after the CIHD model was established. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), myocardial injury area, myocardial perfusion area and viable myocardium were observed by coronary angiography, dual-isotopic myocardial imaging and first-pass delayed myocardial perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) before modeling as well as 2 and 4 weeks after surgery.

Introduction: Heteroresistance to antibiotic agents can lead to diagnostic and therapeutic failures; however, to date, cefepime heteroresistance (FEP-HR) in Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) bacteraemia has not been characterised. The primary goal of this study was to investigate the molecular epidemiology, mechanisms and risk factors for cefepime-heteroresistant P.

BACKGROUND This study investigated uterine peristalsis before and after ultrasound-guided high-intensify focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) treatment for symptomatic uterine fibroids by cine magnetic resonance imaging (cine MRI). MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 30 patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids were treated by USgHIFU, who were subjected to cine MRI before and after USgHIFU treatment in the periovulatory phase. The images were analyzed for the existence, direction, and frequency of uterine peristalsis.

Though long non-coding RNA LINC00858 (LINC00858) has been shown to be involved in tumours of other tissues, its involvement in colorectal cancer (CRC) is still unknown. We aimed to investigated expression and mechanism LINC00858 in human CRC. In this study, we firstly found that LINC00858 expression was significantly up-regulated in both CRC tissues and cell lines by both online data and RT-PCR assay.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most lethal tumors worldwide, which is mainly due to the high recurrence and metastasis rate after hepatectomy. In this study, we found that PTIP expression was dramatically upregulated in human HCC tissues and cell lines. High expression of PTIP was shown to be associated with aggressive clinicopathological features, including liver cirrhosis, vascular invasion and advanced stage.

Background: Renal denervation (RDN) is used to manage blood pressure (BP) in patients with resistant hypertension (rHT), but effectiveness is still a concern, and key arterial portion for successful RDN is not clear.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of proximal versus full-length renal artery ablation in patients with resistant hypertension (rHT).

Methods: Forty-seven patients with rHT were randomly assigned to receive full-length ablation (n = 23) or proximal ablation (n = 24) of the renal arteries.
