Aim: The aim of this study is to find if there is any correlation between the hematological parameters and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis and severity of the disease in such patients when compared with the nonankylosed patients.

Materials And Methods: A total of 70 patients with age ranging from 10 to 40 years were included in the study after excluding the subjects according to the inclusion criteria. We categorized the subjects into two major groups: group I: control (nonankylosed/ healthy subjects) and group II: study group (ankylosed subjects) with each group containing 35 subjects (n = 35) respectively.

Introduction: Both periodontitis and type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are common diseases with a multifactorial etiology and have influence of cytokines in their pathogenesis and thus may also influence each other. In recent times, more attention has been given to understanding the influences of these inflammatory cytokines which are a main part of oral chronic inflammation on systemic health of the individuals. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the plasma cytokine levels, specifically tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a), interleukin (IL)-6, and IL-4, in chronic periodontitis patients and T2DM patients, so as to investigate the influence of chronic periodontitis in systemic inflammation associated with diabetes mellitus.

Background: The aim of the study was to compare the efficacy of chlorhexidine gluconate 2.5 mg (Periochip) and Minocycline hydrochloride 1 mg (Arestin) as local drug delivery agents in the management of chronic periodontitis.

Materials And Methods: Twenty patients in the age group of 30-50 years suffering from chronic periodontitis (12 males and 8 females), with almost identical probing depth bilaterally (5-8 mm), and exhibiting bleeding on probing were selected and divided into two groups: Group I consisted of periodontal pockets on the left side and received Periochip and group II consisted of periodontal pockets on the right side and received Arestin.

Material And Methods: A serial prescription audit in four cycles (three months each) was conducted at Jhalawar Medical College and Hospital and at Chintpurni Medical College and Hospital for two years, one year in each hospital. One cycle included the prescriptions which were collected by using a digital camera from the outdoor patients department every month (n=250 per month), for three months regularly. A baseline prescription audit, as a cross-sectional survey, was done on the last date of the first month.

Abstract: Multifocal osteoarticular tuberculosis is uncommon and accounts for approximately10% of all cases of osteoarticular tuberculosis. Concomitant vertebral and iliac bone tuberculosis has not been reported in the literature to date. We report one such case for its unusual clinical and radiological presentation, which had presentation more similar to a malignant bone tumour than an infection.
