The dynamics of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) have been extensively researched in many settings around the world, but little is known about these patterns in Africa. A total of 7540 complete nucleotide genomes from 51 African nations were obtained and analysed using the National Center for Biotechnology Information and Global Initiative on Sharing Influenza Data databases to examine the genetic diversity and spread dynamics of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) lineages circulating in Africa. Using various clade and lineage nomenclature schemes, we examined their diversity and used maximum parsimony inference methods to reconstruct the evolutionary hypotheses about the spread of the virus in Africa.

HIV/AIDS remains one of the world's most significant public health and economic challenges, with approximately 36 million people currently living with the disease. Considerable progress has been made to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS in the past years through successful multiple HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment interventions. The recent surge in the discovery of hidden diversity within rheophilic taxa, particularly in West and East Africa, prompted a closer examination of the extent to which the current taxonomy may obscure the diversity of riffle-dwelling suckermouth catfishes in the genus in southern Africa. Chiral "doped" MOFs: an electrochemical and theoretical integrated study.

This work reports on the electrochemical behaviour of Fe and Zn based metal-organic framework (MOF) compounds, which are "doped" with chiral molecules, namely: cysteine and camphor sulfonic acid. Their electrochemical behaviour was thoroughly investigated via "solid-state" electrochemical measurements, exploiting an "" tailored experimental set-up: a paste obtained by carefully mixing the MOF with graphite powder is deposited on a glassy carbon (GC) surface.
