Electronic address:

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Delayed tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) thrombolysis, which has a restrictive therapeutic time window within 4.5 h following ischemic stroke (IS), increases the risk of hemorrhagic transformation (HT) and subsequent neurotoxicity. Studies have shown that the NLRP3 inflammasome activation reversely regulated by the PGC-1α leads to microglial polarization and pyroptosis to cause damage to nerve cells and the blood-brain barrier.

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) is an inflammatory disease characterized by a significant increase in eosinophils. EGE itself is rare, and cases with clinical manifestations of hemorrhagic ascites are even rarer, which undoubtedly increases the risk of misdiagnosis. Given this, this study reports a rare case of pediatric EGE presenting with paroxysmal abdominal pain without apparent cause, accompanied by acute tonsillitis and mesenteric lymphadenitis, suggesting a possible intestinal infection.

Curr Med Sci

December 2024

Department of Dermatology, Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital of Wuhan, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, 430022, China.

Objective: The trigger receptor expressed on myeloid cells-2 (TREM2) pathway in myeloid cells is a key disease-inducing immune signaling hub that is essential for detecting tissue damage and limiting its pathological spread. However, the role and potential mechanisms of TREM2 in wound repair remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the role and mechanism of TREM2 in skin wound healing in mice.

Background: Stable angina pectoris, resulting from coronary artery atherosclerosis, significantly affects quality of life and carries a high risk of cardiovascular events. Despite modern therapies, managing this condition remains challenging. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) views it as a syndrome of heart meridian obstruction by phlegm and blood stasis, necessitating improved circulation and phlegm resolution.

Hubei Key Laboratory for Precision Synthesis of Small Molecule Pharmaceuticals, Ministry-of-Education Key Laboratory for the Synthesis and Application of Organic Functional Molecules, Hubei University, Wuhan 430062, China. Electronic address:

Bacterial infections during wound healing often cause inflammation, which delays the healing process. Therefore, innovative wound dressings are urgently needed to inhibit bacterial infections and promote healing. This study proposes an Ag-functionalized chitosan hydrogel dressing, formed via a Schiff-base reaction between alkynyl Ag substituted chitosan (Ag-CS) and octafunctionalized polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane with benzaldehyde-terminated polyethylene glycol (POSS-PEG-CHO), to address the issue of bacterial infection in wounds.

Background: Occipital neuralgia manifests as pain in the cutaneous distribution of occipital nerves, with the greater occipital nerve stemming from the C2 spinal nerve and the lesser occipital nerve originating from the C2 and C3 spinal nerves. While pulsed radiofrequency ablation of the C2 dorsal root ganglion (DRG) is an effective treatment for refractory occipital neuralgia, accessing the C2 DRG remains a clinical challenge even under fluoroscopic guidance.

Objective: We aimed to develop an ultrasonographic method for quickly and accurately accessing the C2 DRG.
