Department of Urology, Peking University First Hospital, Institute of Urology, Peking University, National Urological Cancer Center, Beijing, China.

Renal cancer is one of the most common malignancies of the urinary system, and the number of deaths continues to increase. The standardized management of the diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer is challenging due to the great differences in the diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer in different regions. The Renal Cancer Expert Committee of the National Cancer Quality Control Center (NCQCC) identified a lack of authoritative quality control standards as an opportunity to utilize its multidisciplinary membership to improve the standardized diagnosis and treatment of renal cancer.

Background: This study aimed to explore the characteristics of optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging for differentiating between benign and malignant lesions and different pathological types of lung cancer in bronchial lesions and to preliminarily evaluate the clinical value of OCT.

Methods: Patients who underwent bronchoscopy biopsy and OCT between February 2019 and December 2019 at the Chinese PLA General Hospital were enrolled in this study. White-light bronchoscopy (WLB), auto-fluorescence bronchoscopy (AFB), and OCT were performed at the lesion location.

Purpose: Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive solid tumor with a severe prognosis. Although tumor biomarkers are often used to identify advanced pancreatic cancer, this is not accurate, and the currently used biomarkers are not indicative of prognosis. The present study evaluated circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as a biomarker for prognosis prediction and disease monitoring in metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAC).

Measurable residual disease (MRD) positivity before haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT) is an independent prognostic factor in determining outcomes in patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In this study, we conducted a parallel comparison of the efficacy and safety in patients with suboptimal MRD response after reinduction who underwent haplo-HSCT after chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy or chemotherapy. Forty B-cell ALL patients who relapsed after first-line chemotherapy and with an MRD ≥0.

Background: The presence of minimal residual disease (MRD) is an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Moreover, the role of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy in patients with MRD is currently unclear.

Methods: We conducted a prospective study to investigate the role of CAR-T therapy in patients with persistent/recurrent MRD-positive ALL in first remission.

Backgrounds: CD146 is highly expressed in various malignant tumors and associated with the poor prognosis. However, the role of CD146 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is still unknown. This study aimed to identify the role of CD146 in ccRCC by integrated bioinformatics analysis.

Background: Some patients discharged automatically are classified as terminal discharge, while their clinical outcome is survival, disrupting the results of clinical research.

Methods: The data of this study were taken from inpatients admitted to the ICU of the First Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital, Beijing, China from 2008-2017. We collected the data regarding medications used over the three days before discharge from the group of patients who survived and the group of patients who died, and the outcomes of all patients were recalculated by three classification algorithms (AdaBoosting, Pearson correlation coefficient, observed to expected ratio-weighted cosine similarity).

CAS Key Laboratory of Nutrition, Metabolism and Food Safety, Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, 200031, Shanghai, China.

The prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unsatisfactory due to limited effective treatment options. In this work, we investigated the therapeutic efficacy of Terbinafine for HCC and the underlying mechanism. The influence of Terbinafine on cell growth, 3D spheroid formation, clonogenic survival, and protein synthesis was investigated in human HCC cell lines.

Unmanipulated haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is an excellent option for children and young adult relapsed/refractory Philadelphia chromosome-negative B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia after CAR-T-cell therapy.

Although chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy produces a high complete remission rate among patients with relapsed/refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, relapse remains an urgent issue. It is uncertain whether consolidative haploidentical-allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (haplo-HSCT) is suitable for achieving sustainable remission. Therefore, we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of bridging CAR-T therapy to haplo-HSCT.

February 2020

Department of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, Chinese People Liberation Army (PLA) General Hospital, Beijing 100082, China.

To evaluate the condition of the diaphragm in patients with long-term mechanical ventilation using ultrasound technology and to analyze its relationship with ventilation time and muscle atrophy in order to clarify the reasons for diaphragm dysfunction in long-term mechanical ventilation patients. Patients admitted to the respiratory department at the Chinese PLA General Hospital between June 2018 and April 2019 with mechanical ventilation were included in this study. The enrolled patients were divided into a short-term mechanical ventilation group (7 days ≤ ventilation time<1 month) and a long-term mechanical ventilation group (mechanical ventilation time ≥ 1 month).

Hypercholesterolemia is one of the important risk factors of atherosclerosis (AS). The aim of this study is to explore the effect of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) on serum cholesterol levels and their mechanism of action. Hyperlipemia, as a model of abnormal lipid hypermetabolism, was established by using a high fat diet in C57BL/6J mice.

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) can objectively describe the distribution of nerve roots in morphology, and provide a set of objective reference data on the quantitative indicators. The present study aimed to investigate the value of DTI in lumbosacral nerve root compression in patients with lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration. DTI was performed in 45 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration.

Purpose: The present clinical trial was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of concurrent helical tomotherapy (HT) with cetuximab followed by adjuvant chemotherapy with docetaxel and cisplatin (TP) in the treatment of patients with locoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Materials And Methods: This phase II clinical trial included 43 patients with Stage III/IV LANC (33 Stage III and 10 Stage IV). The treatment consisted of concurrent HT with cetuximab (400 mg/m(2) loading dose and weekly 250mg/m(2)), followed by four cycles of chemotherapy [docetaxel (70 mg/m(2) on Day 1) and cisplatin (40 mg/m(2) on Days 1 and 2 every 3 weeks).

Objectives: Propofol (2, 6-diisopropylphenol) is an intravenous anesthetic that is commonly used for the general anesthesia. It is well known that the spinal cord is one of the working targets of general anesthesia including propofol. However, there is a lack of investigation of the effects of propofol on spinal dorsal horn which is important for the sensory transmission of nociceptive signals.
