Establishment and preliminary evaluation of CT-based classification for distal radius fracture.

Establish a new classification system of distal radius fracture based on computed tomographic (CT), and evaluate its reliability and reproducibility preliminarily, and provide a new theoretical reference for clinicians to use the clinical classification system. The imaging data and clinical data of 204 inpatients with distal radius fracture during 6 years from January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2019 in orthopaedic department were analyzed retrospectively and classified based on CT. Three observers evaluated the image data of 48 randomly selected cases based on CT at different time nodes of T1 and T2.

Neoadjuvant nivolumab plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy for resectable NSCLC: subpopulation analysis of Chinese patients in CheckMate 816.

Background: Neoadjuvant nivolumab plus chemotherapy significantly improved event-free survival (EFS) and pathologic complete response (pCR) versus chemotherapy alone in patients with resectable non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the global phase III CheckMate 816 study. Here, we report post hoc exploratory efficacy, safety, and surgical outcomes in the Chinese subpopulation of this study.

Methods: Adults with stage IB-IIIA resectable NSCLC were randomized to receive nivolumab 360 mg plus chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone every 3 weeks for three cycles followed by surgery.

Three-dimensional High-definition Exoscope in Minimally Invasive Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Objectives: The operative microscope (OM) has revolutionized the field of modern spine surgery, however, it remains limited by several drawbacks. Clinical Results of Utilizing the Satellite Rod Technique in Treating Ankylosing Spondylitis Kyphosis.

Objective: According to the literature, there are no clinical reports documenting the use of the satellite rod technique in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis. Arthroscopic C-Shaped Release Around the Greater Trochanter for Gluteal Muscle Contracture.

Objective: To investigate the outcomes of C-shaped release around the greater trochanter in gluteal muscle contracture under arthroscopy.

Methods: From December 2016 to January 2018, 185 patients with gluteal muscle contracture who treated under arthroscopy were reviewed, including 69 males and 116 females. All patients had a history of repeated intramuscular injection into the buttocks.

Objectives: Auditory neuropathy (AN) is the term used to describe a group of hearing disorders, in which the hearing impairment occurs as a result of abnormal auditory nerve function. While our understanding of this condition has advanced significantly over recent years, the ability to determine the site of lesion and the extent of dysfunction in affected individuals remains a challenge. To this end, we investigated potential axonal degeneration in the white matter tracts of the brainstem in individuals with X-linked AN.

Background: The severity and outcome of COVID-19 cases has been associated with the percentage of circulating lymphocytes (LYM%), levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), procalcitonin (PCT), lactic acid (LA), and viral load (ORF1ab Ct). However, the predictive power of each of these indicators in disease classification and prognosis remains largely unclear.

Methods: We retrospectively collected information on the above parameters in 142 patients with COVID-19, stratifying them by survival or disease severity.

Macrophage ABHD5 Suppresses NFκB-Dependent Matrix Metalloproteinase Expression and Cancer Metastasis.

Metabolic reprogramming in tumor-associated macrophages (TAM) is associated with cancer development, however, the role of macrophage triglyceride metabolism in cancer metastasis is unclear. Here, we showed that TAMs exhibited heterogeneous expression of abhydrolase domain containing 5 (ABHD5), an activator of triglyceride hydrolysis, with migratory TAMs expressing lower levels of ABHD5 compared with the nonmigratory TAMs. ABHD5 expression in macrophages inhibited cancer cell migration in xenograft models and in genetic cancer models.

Spontaneous Remodeling of Spinal Canal After Sagittal Translation in Pedicle Subtraction Osteotomy for Correction of Thoracolumbar Kyphosis in Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Background: Sagittal translations (STs) secondary to osteotomy for the correction of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) kyphosis have drawn great attention, which is considered closely related to neurologic deficits and terrible fusion. Despite being discussed in several cases, there were no relevant reports about the transformation of ST and the spinal canal remodeling in AS patients.

Methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on 16 patients with ST for the treatment of AS kyphosis through pedicle subtraction osteotomy during January 2011 to December 2014 in our hospital.

Synovial Fluid Viscosity Test is Promising for the Diagnosis of Periprosthetic Joint Infection.

Background: So far there is no "gold standard" test for the diagnosis of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), compelling clinicians to rely on several serological and synovial fluid tests with no 100% accuracy. Synovial fluid viscosity is one of the parameters defining the rheology properties of synovial fluid. We hypothesized that patients with PJI may have a different level of synovial fluid viscosity and aimed to investigate the sensitivity and specificity of synovial fluid viscosity in detecting PJI.

Correlation between diaphragmatic sagittal rotation and pulmonary dysfunction in patients with ankylosing spondylitis accompanied by kyphosis.

Objective: This study was performed to investigate the correlation between pulmonary dysfunction patterns and diaphragmatic sagittal rotation in patients with ankylosing spondylitis accompanied by kyphosis.

Methods: Thirty patients (27 male, 3 female) with kyphotic deformity secondary to ankylosing spondylitis underwent pedicle subtraction osteotomy and were retrospectively reviewed. Reconstruction of Severe Acetabular Bone Defect with 3D Printed Ti6Al4V Augment: A Finite Element Study.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish the finite element analysis (FEA) model of acetabular bone defect reconstructed by 3D printed Ti6Al4V augment and TM augment and further to analyze the stress distribution and clinical safety of augments, screws, and bones.

Methods: The FEA model of acetabular bone defect reconstructed by 3D printed Ti6Al4V augment was established by the CT data of a patient with Paprosky IIIA defect. The von Mises stresses of augments, screws, and bones were analyzed by a single-legged stance loading applied in 3 increments (500 N, 2000 N, and 3000 N).

Changes in sexual activity of male patients with ankylosing spondylitis undergoing total hip arthroplasty.

Introduction: Sexual activity is often an important component of life. To date, no studies have examined sexual activity before and after total hip arthroplasty (THA) in male patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the effect of THA on sexual activity and to explore the most commonly reported and comfortable coital position for male AS patients with hip involvement.

Detection of pathogenic microorganisms from bloodstream infection specimens using TaqMan array card technology.

Bloodstream infections (BSIs) are often life-threatening, and rapid identification is critical. Here, we developed a TaqMan array card (TAC) assay to detect pathogens in BSI specimens. The TAC included 30 primer/probe pairs targeting 27 species and 3 controls.

Robot-assisted vs. conventional unicompartmental knee arthroplasty : Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Numerous advances have been made in prosthesis design, instrumentation and postoperative rehabilitation for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty; however, only 70-86% of patients are satisfied with the functional outcome and revision rates range between 10% and 20%. The primary outcome for this meta-analysis was implantation accuracy of component positioning and tibiofemoral component safe zone. A total of three randomized controlled trials (RCT), three quasi-RCTs and one prospective trial were included in this review.
