Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Senior Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery, The Fourth Medical Center of Chinese, PLA General Hospital and PLA Medical College, Beijing, 100048, China.

UVB radiation induces inflammatory and oxidative stress responses, contributing to skin damage, yet the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. N-Myc downstream-regulated gene 2 (NDRG2), an emerging stress-associated gene, remains unexplored in UVB-induced skin injury. In this study, we detected skin NDRG2 expression after UVB irradiation for the first time and further used Ndrg2 knockout mice to clarify the role of NDRG2 in UVB-induced skin injury.

Research Center for Tissue Repair and Regeneration Affiliated to the Medical Innovation Research Department, Chinese PLA General Hospital and PLA Medical College; PLA Key Laboratory of Tissue Repair and Regenerative Medicine and Beijing Key Research Laboratory of Skin Injury, Repair and Regeneration; Research Unit of Trauma Care, Tissue Repair and Regeneration, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, 2019RU051, Beijing, 100048, China.

Scar formation resulting from burns or severe trauma can significantly compromise the structural integrity of skin and lead to permanent loss of skin appendages, ultimately impairing its normal physiological function. Accumulating evidence underscores the potential of targeted modulation of mechanical cues to enhance skin regeneration, promoting scarless repair by influencing the extracellular microenvironment and driving the phenotypic transitions. The field of skin repair and skin appendage regeneration has witnessed remarkable advancements in the utilization of biomaterials with distinct physical properties.

The issue of hearing protection in the presence of noise pollution is of great importance in the fields of environmental science and clinical medicine. Currently, the clinical significance of Klotho in relation to hearing has not been revealed. The aim of this study was to examine the correlation between serum Klotho levels and Pure Tone Average (PTA) hearing thresholds among individuals in the U.

The incorporation of vasculature is known to be effective in tissue or organ functional regeneration. However, a vague understanding of the interaction between epidermal appendages and their vascular niches is a foremost obstacle to obtaining sweat gland (SG)-specific vasculature units. Here, we map their precise anatomical connections and report that the interplay between SG cells (SGCs) and the surrounding vascular niche is key for glandular development and homeostasis maintenance.

Notch1 down-regulation in lineage-restricted niches is involved in the development of mouse eccrine sweat glands.

Research Center for Tissue Repair and Regeneration affiliated to the Medical Innovation Research Department, Chinese PLA General Hospital, 28 Fu Xing Road, 100048, Beijing, P. R. China.

Eccrine sweat gland (SG) restrictedly exists in mouse foot pads indicating that mouse plantar dermis (PD) contains the SG lineage-restricted niches. However, it is still unclear how these niches can affect stem cell fate towards SG. In this study, we tried to find the key cues by which stem cells sense and interact with the SG lineage-specific niches both in vivo and in vitro.

Predicts Dual-Drug Resistance to Temozolomide and Bevacizumab in Glioma.

Front Oncol

December 2021

Integrative Cancer Center & Cancer Clinical Research Center, Sichuan Cancer Hospital & Institute, Sichuan Cancer Center, School of Medicine, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China.

Aims: Anti-angiotherapy (Bevacizumab) is currently regarded as a promising option for glioma patients who are resistant to temozolomide (TMZ) treatment. But ongoing clinical research failed to meet therapeutic expectations. This study aimed to explore the pivotal genetic feature responsible for TMZ and Bevacizumab resistance in glioma patients.

Prospects of antibodies targeting CD47 or CD24 in the treatment of glioblastoma.

CNS Neurosci Ther

October 2021

Chinese PLA General Hospital and PLA Medical College, Chinese PLA Institute of Neurosurgery, Beijing, China.

Glioma is a malignant tumor with the highest incidence among all brain tumors (about 46% of intracranial tumors) and is the most common primary intracranial tumor. Among them, glioblastoma (GBM) is highly malignant and is one of the three refractory tumors with the highest mortality rate in the world. The survival time from glioblastoma diagnosis to death is only 14-16 months for patients with standard treatment such as surgery plus radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Using bioprinting and spheroid culture to create a skin model with sweat glands and hair follicles.

Burns Trauma

May 2021

Research Center for Tissue Repair and Regeneration, Medical Innovation Research Department and the Fourth Medical Center, Chinese PLA General Hospital and PLA Medical College, Beijing 100048, China.

Background: Sweat glands (SGs) and hair follicles (HFs) are two important cutaneous appendages that play crucial roles in homeostatic maintenance and thermoregulation, and their interaction is involved in wound healing. SGs can be regenerated from mesenchymal stem cell-laden 3D bioprinted scaffolds, based on our previous studies, whereas regeneration of HFs could not be achieved in the same model. Due to the lack of an model, the underlying molecular mechanism of the interaction between SGs and HFs in regeneration could not be fully understood.

Research Center for Tissue Repair and Regeneration affiliated to the Medical Innovation Research Department, PLA General Hospital, 51 Fu Cheng Road, Beijing 100048, PR China. Electronic address:

Mesenchymal cells (MSCs) are an attractive option as seed cells for bioprinting. However, loss of stemness and undesired differentiation reduces their effectiveness. In this study, 12 nm bioactive nanoparticles (BNPs) which could release silicon (Si) ions were used to enhance the properties of alginate/gelatin hydrogel bioink to maintain MSC stemness.

Background: Glioma-related epilepsy (GRE) is defined as symptomatic epileptic seizures secondary to gliomas, it brings both heavy financial and psychosocial burdens to patients with diffuse glioma and significantly decreases their quality of life. To date, there have been no clinical guidelines that provide recommendations for the optimal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for GRE patients.

Methods: In March 2017, the Joint Task Force for GRE of China Association Against Epilepsy and Society for Neuro-Oncology of China launched the guideline committee for the diagnosis and treatment of GRE.
