Following the publication of this article, a concerned reader drew to our attention that in Fig. 5C on p. 1704, showing histological images of mouse livers stained with H&E, unexpected areas of similarity were identified in terms of the staining patterns revealed within the data panels themselves.

Background: The present study aims to evaluate the performance and the clinical applicability of the Recognition of Stroke in the Emergency Department (ROSIER) scale via systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: Electronic databases of Pubmed and Embase were searched between 1st January 2005 (when ROSIER developed) and 8th May 2020. Studies that evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of the ROSIER scale were included.

Glutathione peroxidase 2 (GPX2) participates in many cancers including pancreatic cancer (PC), and overexpression of GPX2 promotes tumor growth. Herein, we identified the role of GPX2 in epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT), invasion, and metastasis in PC. Bioinformatics prediction was applied to select PC-related genes.

Interleukin (IL)-37 has an important role in autoimmune diseases by suppressing immunity and inflammation; however, the role of IL-37 in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) has remained largely elusive. The present study aimed to investigate the expression of IL-37 and its potential role in the pathogenesis of ITP. The plasma levels and expression of IL-37 in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of patients with active ITP, ITP patients in remission and healthy controls were measured by ELISA and reverse transcription-quantitative PCR, respectively.

We aimed to investigate the influence of miR-133b/fibrillin 1 (FBN1) on proliferation and invasion of human gastric cancer (GC) cells. Carcinomatous and adjacent tissues of 43 GC patients, normal gastric mucosa cell line GES-1 and GC cell lines including AGS, HGC-27, KATO III, NCI-N87, SGC-7901, MKN-45 and MGC-803 were collected. Then, the expressions of miR-133b and FBN1 were detected by qRT-PCR.

Dickkopf-related protein 2 (DKK2) is one of the antagonists of Wnt/β-catenin signaling, with its downregulation reported in multiple cancers. However, how DKK2 contributes to breast tumorigenesis remains unclear. We examined its expression and promoter methylation in 10 breast tumor cell lines, 98 primary tumors, and 21 normal breast tissues.

Liver fibrosis is a chronic liver disease characterized by the proliferation and activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM). Research suggests that microRNAs (miRNAs) are a new type of regulator of liver fibrosis. In the present study, we investigated the role of microRNA-9 (miR-9) in the process of liver fibrosis, as well as the underlying mechanism of action.

Aim: Caveolin-1 (cav-1) is a major multifunctional scaffolding protein of caveolae. Cav-1 is primarily expressed in mesangial cells, renal proximal tubule cells and podocytes in kidneys. Recent evidence shows that the functional connections between cav-1 and ROS play a key role in many diseases.
