Cognitive impairment, marked by neurodegenerative damage, leads to diminished cognitive function decline. Accurate cognitive assessment is crucial for early detection and progress evaluation, yet current methods in clinical practice lack objectivity, precision, and convenience. This study included 743 participants, including healthy individuals, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and dementia patients, with collected resting-state EEG data and cognitive scale scores.

The association between neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and poor outcomes following infant cardiac surgery.

Background: Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a valuable indicator for evaluating inflammation and adverse outcomes after cardiac surgery. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association of perioperative NLR with clinical outcomes in infants undergoing congenital heart surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.

Objectives: Autoreactive B cells play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and B cell-depleting therapies using an antibodies, such as rituximab, have been suggested to be effective in RA treatment. However, transient B cell depletion with rituximab is associated with significant safety challenges related to global suppression of the immune system and thus increases the risks of infection and cancer development. To address selective and persistent issues associated with RA therapy, we developed a customised therapeutic strategy employing universal antifluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T cells) combined with FITC-labelled antigenic peptide epitopes to eliminate autoreactive B cell subsets recognising these antigens in RA.

Sex-dependent prolongation of sciatic nerve blockade in diabetes patients: a prospective cohort study.

Introduction: Diabetes may affect the duration of nerve block after regional anesthesia. This study aimed to compare the durations of sensory and motor block in diabetes versus non-diabetes patients after lower limb nerve block and delineate any sex-based differences in the duration of sensory and motor blocks of both diabetes and non-diabetes patients.
