Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a key molecule in the field of oncology, with significant impacts on tumor diagnosis and treatment. Importantly, it has paved the way for the development of radiotracers for quinoline-based FAP inhibitors (FAPIs), which are currently among the most promising radiotracers for PET imaging in cancer. We performed a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications related to FAP and FAPI-based radiotracers, which included the quantification and visualization of current research trends and prospects based on various bibliometric indicators.

Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) patients often suffer from impaired nutritional conditions. However, there are few studies focused on muscle loss in UC patients as well as its impact on therapeutic response. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of myopenia in hospitalized patients with active UC, analyze the relationship between body composition including both skeletal muscle and fat with clinical characteristics, and explore the association between body composition and clinical response to vedolizumab.

The Mpox virus (MPXV) has emerged as a formidable orthopoxvirus, posing an immense challenge to global public health. An understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of MPXV infection, replication and immune evasion will benefit the development of novel antiviral strategies. Despite the involvement of G-quadruplexes (G4s) in modulating the infection and replication processes of multiple viruses, their roles in the MPXV life cycle remain largely unknown.

Unlabelled: Mixed-mode sorbents exhibit two or more primary retention mechanisms, which can enhance the selectivity and capacity of the extraction process in a single step. In this study, a facile approach was proposed to prepare functionalized metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) by post-synthetic oxidation. The composites could be varied independently for each processing step, resulting in four frameworks to meet different sample pretreatment requirements.

Flavor components largely depend on microbial activity and environmental conditions during traditional fermented food production. However, the microbial and abiotic contributions to the flavor of Chinese strong-aroma (SAB) remain poorly understood. In this study, the composition and functional profiles of the fungal and bacterial communities changed significantly after fourteen days of grain fermentation.

Programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) inhibitors and programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitors are considered effective alternatives for the primary treatment of recurrent metastatic cancers. However, they can induce various adverse events affecting multiple organ systems, potentially diminishing patients' quality of life, and even leading to treatment interruptions. Adverse events related to PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors differ from those associated with CTLA-4 inhibitors and are more commonly observed in the treatment of solid tumors.

Vascular regeneration plays a vital role in tissue repair yet is drastically impaired in those with a spinal cord injury (SCI). Pericytes are of great significance as they are entwined with vessel-specific endothelial cells and actively contribute to maintaining the spinal cord's vascular network. Within the neurovascular unit (NVU), subtypes of pericytes characterized by various markers such as PDGFR-β, Desmin, CD146, and NG-2 are involved in vascular regeneration in SCI repair.

A chiral porous organic polymer (cPOP) was synthesized through nucleophilic substitution polymerization between dichloromaleimide and aromatic amine. This cPOP was used as a new chiral stationary phase (CSP) for gas chromatography (GC) chiral separation. In this work, we first used this cPOP as the CSP for gas chromatography to investigate its ability to separate racemic mixtures, including amino acid derivatives, chiral alcohols, aldehydes, alkanes, ketones, esters, and organic acids.

Enzootic nasal tumor virus 2 (ENTV2), the etiologic agent of enzootic nasal adenocarcinoma (ENA) in goats, is highly prevalent in China and causes significant economic losses to the goat industry. Here we describe the occurrence of ENA on a Dazu black goat farm in Chongqing City. At autopsy, nasal cavity masses were observed within the nose of an affected goat; histologically, the tumor was a nasal adenocarcinoma.

Ginsenoside compound K (GCK) has been proved to have great hypoglycemic effect pertinent to gut microbiota. However, the improvement of high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced type 2 diabetes (T2D) as well as the mechanism of GCK mediated by gut microbiota is not well-known. This study aimed to investigate the hypoglycemic effects and mechanism of GCK on a HFD-induced diabetic mouse model.

Glycosite-specific antibody-drug conjugates (gsADCs), which carry cytotoxic payloads at the conserved -glycosylation site, N297, of an IgG, have emerged as a promising ADC format with better therapeutic index. Conjugating the payloads aldehyde-based chemistry is more friendly to IgGs, and has been widely investigated. However, the efficiency of introducing an aldehyde tag at the N297 site is poor due to the complicated procedures required, such as the multiple-enzyme-catalyzed IgG glycoengineering process and the successive oxidation step, which always results in heterogeneous products and poor stability.

Bottlebrush polymers (BBPs) have garnered significant attention as advanced drug delivery systems, capable of transporting a diverse range of therapeutic agents, including both chemical drugs and biologics. Despite their effectiveness, the empty BBP vectors post-drug release may pose long-term safety risks due to their difficult systemic clearance. Here, a responsive degradable BBP platform for cancer therapy is developed, featuring a poly(disulfide) backbone grafted with fluorine-terminated zwitterionic side chains.

Urinary catheters serve as critical medical devices in clinical practice. However, the currently used urinary catheters lack efficient antibacterial and lubricating properties, often leading to discomfort with patients and even severe urinary infections. Herein, a new strategy of supramolecular assembly and disassembly of chitosan (Cs) is developed that enables efficient antibacterial lubricous and biodegradable hydrogel urinary catheters.

Immunometabolism is critical in the regulation of immunity and inflammation; however, the mechanism of preventing aberrant activation-induced immunopathology remains largely unclear. Here, we report that glyoxalase II (GLO2) in the glycolysis branching pathway is specifically downregulated by NF-κB signaling during innate immune activation via tristetraprolin (TTP)-mediated mRNA decay. As a result, its substrate S-D-lactoylglutathione (SLG) accumulates in the cytosol and directly induces D-lactyllysine modification of proteins.

While sleep is important, our understanding of its molecular mechanisms is limited. Over the last two decades, protein kinases including Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) α and β have been implicated in sleep regulation. Of all the known mouse genetic mutants, the biggest changes in sleep is reported to be observed in adult mice with sgRNAs for Camk2b injected into their embryos: sleep is reduced by approximately 120 min (mins) over 24 h (hrs).

Synucleinopathies, such as Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple system atrophy, are characterized by the aggregation of α-synuclein. Variations in brain distribution allow for differentiation among these diseases and facilitate precise clinical diagnosis. However, distinguishing between synucleinopathies and Parkinsonism with tauopathies poses a challenge, significantly impacting clinical drug development.
