Diabetes prevalence continues to increase as a result of people's increasing sugar intake. Diabetes mellitus and its complications (dry skin, constipation, depression, and dental caries), as well as the prohibition of sweets ingestion, seriously affect patients' physical and mental health. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a long-term food for special medical purposes (FSMP) that aids in managing diabetes and its complications.

Transcriptional regulation of sterol biosynthetic genes is mediated by conserved sterol-regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs) in human pathogenic fungi, however, its homolog in S. cerevisiae regulate filamentous growth during stress conditions. These pseudohyphal growths might be associated with the expression of MEP2 gene in response to ammonium limitation.

Cisplatin (Cis), a potent chemotherapeutic agent, often causes acute kidney injury (AKI), limiting its clinical efficacy. RONS flares at the AKI site are a key factor in its progression. In this study, leveraging the advantages of cell membrane-coated biomimetic nanocarriers, we developed a multifunctional biomimetic nanodelivery system nano-RONS-sacrificial agent for AKI treatment.

The incidence of metabolic diseases-hypertension, diabetes, obesity, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and atherosclerosis-is increasing annually, imposing a significant burden on both human health and the social economy. The occurrence and development of these diseases are closely related to the disruption of ion homeostasis, which is crucial for maintaining cellular functions and metabolic equilibrium. However, the specific mechanism of ion homeostasis in metabolic diseases is still unclear.

Ginseng has been commonly used as a traditional Chinese medicine in Asian countries for thousands of years. Ginsenosides are the main pharmacologically active ingredients isolated from ginseng and have neuroprotective effects in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson's disease (PD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). To summarise and investigate the protective roles of ginsenosides and their underlying mechanisms in PD and AD, we used ''Ginsenoside", ''Parkinson's disease", ''Alzheimer's disease", ''anti-inflammatory", ''antioxidant", and ''apoptosis" as keywords to search and extract relevant literature information from scientific databases such as Elsevier, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases.

Backgrounds: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major complication of diabetes, which is rising among adolescents and young adults worldwide, but data on the trends of these diseases are sparse. This study examined the burden of CKD due to type 1 diabetes (CKD-T1D) and type 2 diabetes (CKD-T2D) among those aged 10-35 from 1990 to 2021 on global, regional, and national levels.
Methods: Using Global Burden of Disease 2021 data, joinpoint regression analysis and decomposition analysis were employed to identify significant changes in CKD-T1D and CKD-T2D trends, including incidence, prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).

The development of mechanically robust super-lubrication hydrogel materials with sustained lubricity at high contact pressures is challenging. In this work, inspired by the durable lubricity feature of the earthworm epidermis, a multilevel structural super-lubrication hydrogel (MS-SLH) system, the so-called lubricant self-pumping hydrogel, is developed. The MS-SLH system is manufactured by chemically dissociating a double network hydrogel to generate robust and wrinkled lubrication layer, and then laser etching was used to generate cylindrical texture pores as gland-like pockets for storing lubricants.
