Recent studies have shown that iron metabolism dysregulation and lipid peroxidation-induced ferroptosis, triggered by oxidative stress, play a key role in the development of aortic dissection. Dysregulated iron metabolism leads to excessive production of hydroxyl radicals due to abnormal iron levels and heme metabolism, while lipid peroxidation is linked to Xc system dysfunction and accumulation of phospholipid hydroperoxides. These factors synergistically disrupt aortic homeostasis and drive ferroptosis of vascular cells, including endothelial and smooth muscle cells.

Aortic dissection is a critical vascular disease that is characterized by a high mortality rate and inflammation significantly influences its onset and progression. Recent studies highlight the integral role of macrophages, key players in the immune system, in the pathological landscape of aortic dissection. These cells are involved in crucial processes, such as the remodeling of the extracellular matrix, immunocyte infiltration, and phenotypic switching of smooth muscle cells, which are essential for the structural integrity and functional dynamics of the aortic wall.

Mechanoluminescence (ML) sensing technologies open up new opportunities for intelligent sensors, self-powered displays and wearable devices. However, the emission efficiency of ML materials reported so far still fails to meet the growing application requirements due to the insufficiently understood mechano-to-photon conversion mechanism. Herein, we propose to quantify the ability of different phases to gain or lose electrons under friction (defined as triboelectric series), and reveal that the inorganic-organic interfacial triboelectricity is a key factor in determining the ML in inorganic-organic composites.

Background: Among the various types of aortic dissection, multichanneled aortic dissection (MCAD) differs from classic double-channeled aortic dissection and involves the formation of an additional false lumen in the aortic wall or the flaps. It is considered a relatively rare condition with high perioperative mortality and morbidity. However, the morphological characteristic and the optimal therapeutic strategy for MCAD has not been fully determined.

Background: Thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) is a severe disease with limited understandings in its pathogenesis. Altered DNA methylation has been revealed to be involved in many diseases etiology. Few studies have examined the role of DNA methylation in the development of TAD.
