Background: The neck management of clinical-nodal negative (cN0) oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) remains controversial. Elective neck dissection (END) and observation are the main strategies, but it is still not clear who could benefit the most from END. The purpose of this study was to clarify the potential clinical factors that affect the therapeutic value of END and to explore the actual characteristics associated with benefit from END.

Objectives: Bone defects caused by diseases and trauma are usually accompanied by inflammation, and the implantation of biomaterials as a common repair method has also been found to cause inflammatory reactions, which affect bone metabolism and new bone formation. This study investigated whether exosomes from adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC-Exos) plays an immunomodulatory role in traumatic bone defects and elucidated the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: ADSC-Exos were loaded by a biomaterial named gelatine nanoparticles (GNPs), physical and chemical properties were analysed by zeta potential, surface topography and rheology.

Background: Cartilage defects pose a significant burden on medical treatment, leading to an urgent need to develop regenerative medicine approaches for cartilage repair, such as stem cell therapy. However, the direct injection of stem cells can result in insufficient delivery or inaccurate differentiation. Hence, it is necessary to choose appropriate stem cell delivery scaffolds with high biocompatibility, injectability and chondral differentiation induction ability for cartilage regeneration.

Ridge preservation is universally acknowledged as the conventional method for the post-extraction healing yet there are no standard materials for the ideal healing outcome. Herein, a composite gel comprising gelatin nanoparticles (GNPs) and injectable platelet-rich-fibrin (i-PRF) as the potential candidate for extracted socket healing is introduced. The combination of GNPs and i-PRF not only possesses favorable mechanical properties to withstand external force but also accelerate the blood clotting time significantly.

Introduction: Absorption of iodine through skin and an increased incidence of thyroid disorders due to iodophor exposure are reported. However, the risk of oral transmucosal absorption of povidone-iodine after intraoral preparation is not clear.
Objective: To investigate the possibility of oral transmucosal absorption of povidone-iodine after intraoral preparation and its effect on thyroxine level in blood.
