The study investigates the link between ABCG2 gene polymorphisms and preeclampsia (PE) in Chinese Han women, focusing on hyperuricemia (HUA) as a severity indicator for PE.
A cohort of 793 preeclamptic women and 744 normal pregnant women was analyzed for two specific polymorphisms (Q141K and Q126X) using real-time PCR.
Results showed no significant differences in the genetic distribution of these polymorphisms among various PE groups (with/without HUA) and the control group, suggesting that these particular ABCG2 variations are not associated with PE in this population.
