Empagliflozin rescues lifespan and liver senescence in naturally aged mice.

Geroscience

October 2024

Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, 76 Linjiang Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 400010, China.

Empagliflozin is currently known to decrease blood glucose levels, delay renal failure, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and all-cause mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes with cardiovascular disease. However, the effects of empagliflozin on the lifespan and health of naturally aged organisms are unclear. This study was designed to investigate the impacts and potential mechanisms of empagliflozin on lifespan and liver senescence in naturally aged mice.

Proximity hybridization based "turn-on" DNA tweezers for accurate and enzyme-free small extracellular vesicle analysis.

Anal Methods

May 2024

Department of Endocrinology, The Second Affiliated Hospital, Chongqing Medical University, No. 74 Linjiang Road, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, 400010, China.

Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are a type of extracellular vesicle that carries many types of molecular information. The identification of sEVs is essential for the non-invasive detection and treatment of illnesses. Hence, there is a significant need for the development of simple, sensitive, and precise methods for sEV detection.

Effect of GLP-1R rs2254336 and rs3765467 polymorphisms on gastrointestinal adverse reactions in type 2 diabetes patients treated with liraglutide.

Eur J Clin Pharmacol

April 2022

Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing, China.

Purpose: Gastrointestinal adverse reactions (GIARs) to liraglutide exhibit significant individual differences in type 2 diabetes. This study investigated the association between glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and GIARs.

Methods: Adverse events of liraglutide were observed in 376 T2DM patients.

Thioredoxin-interacting protein: a critical link between autophagy disorders and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction.

Endocrine

December 2020

Department of Endocrinology, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, 400010, Chongqing, China.

Thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) is a known important regulatory protein of islet β-cell biology and function, but the detailed mechanism is not clear. Autophagy plays a pivotal role in maintaining cellular homoeostasis. This study aimed to elucidate the influence of TXNIP on the autophagy of β-cell.
