Background: Previous studies have noted an association between diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) and spinal stenosis (SS), although causation is unclear. This study used Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the causal relationship between the two.

Methods: We utilized large GWAS datasets on DISH and SS to perform a two-sample, bidirectional MR analysis, also quantifying the mediating role of intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD).

Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) is now a widely accepted treatment for inoperable chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), but it still faces the problem of high complications. Herein, we report a rare case of severe vagal response during the BPA of a total occlusion lesion in a patient with CTEPH. The patient experienced acute chest pain and dyspnea, accompanied by a significant decrease in heart rate and blood pressure.

[Effect of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction on Treg cells in rats with autoimmune thyroiditis through TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway].

To investigate the effect of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction on regulatory T cells(Treg) in experimental rats with autoimmune thyroiditis(EAT) through the transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)/Smad signaling pathway. Female SD rats were immunized with iodine-rich drinking water combined with Freund's adjuvant and porcine thyroglobulin(pTG) to establish the EAT model of rats, and the levels of serum thyroperoxidase antibody(TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb) were detected. Pathological sections by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining were observed.

[Wangbi Tablets reduce inflammation in rat model of collagen-induced arthritis with syndrome of kidney deficiency by regulating cGAS-STING signaling pathway].

This study aims to investigate the therapeutic effect of Wangbi Tablets(WBT) on the inflammation in the rat model of collagen-induced arthritis(CIA) with the syndrome of kidney deficiency based on the cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate synthase(cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes(STING) signaling pathway. Eighteen rats were randomly chosen from 24 SPF-grade rats for the modeling of CIA with the syndrome of kidney deficiency. The 24 SPF-grade rats were randomized into 4 groups: control(normal rats), model(CIA with syndrome of kidney deficiency), model+WBT(M+WBT), and model+methotrexate(M+MTX).

The common adverse reactions of Chinese patent medicines for external use are skin reactions, and those for the rare severe diseases include palpitation, chest tightness, dyspnea, and anaphylactic shock. At present, World Health Organization(WHO), International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use(ICH),the United States, the European Union, and Asia-Pacific countries(such as Japan and South Korea) have not issued any pharmacovigilance guideline of Chinese patent medicines for external use.

C_(20)-diterpenoid alkaloids are mainly distributed in plants of genus Aconitum, Delphinium, and Consolida in the Ranunculaceae. Their chemical structures are mainly categorized into nine types such as atisines, denudatines, hetidines, and hetisines. The chemical constituents from Cornus officinalis were isolated and purified by various techniques such as macroporous adsorption resin, silica gel, octadecylsilyl(ODS), Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and preparative high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). Efficacy and Safety of Ongericimab in Chinese Patients With Primary Hypercholesterolemia and Mixed Dyslipidemia.

Background: A phase 3 trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ongericimab, a monoclonal antibody that inhibits proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9, as an add-on treatment to optimized lipid-lowering therapy in Chinese patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia.

Methods And Results: A total of 806 patients who were receiving stable and optimized lipid-lowering therapy but did not achieve their low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets were enrolled and randomly assigned in a 2:1:2:1 ratio to receive either ongericimab 150 mg or matching placebo every 2 weeks, or ongericimab 300 mg or matching placebo every 4 weeks for 52 weeks. Efficacy and safety were evaluated in 802 patients who received at least 1 dose of ongericimab or placebo.

We aimed to assess the trends and disparities in risk factor control and treatment among US adults with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease to find potential causes of the deceleration.

Methods And Results: A total of 55 ,021 participants, aged ≥20 years, from the 1999 to 2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were included, of which 5717 were with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

[Cost-effectiveness analysis of Chaiyin Granules in treatment of influenza].

This study aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of Chaiyin Granules compared with Oseltamivir Phosphate Capsules in the treatment of influenza(exogenous wind-heat syndrome). Based on a randomized, double-blind, positive drug parallel control clinical trial, this study evaluated the pharmacoeconomics of Chaiyin Granules with cost-effectiveness analysis method. A total of 116 patients with influenza from eight hospitals(grade Ⅱ level A above) in 6 cities were selected in this study, including 78 cases in the experimental group with Chaiyin Granules and Oseltamivir Phosphate Capsules placebo, and 38 cases in the control group with Oseltamivir Phosphate Capsules and Chaiyin Granules placebo.

In the field of bone engineering, porous ceramic scaffolds are in great demand for repairing bone defects. In this study, hydroxyapatite (HA) ceramic scaffolds with three different structural configurations, including the body-centered cubic (BCC), the face-centered cubic (FCC), and the triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS), were fabricated through digital light processing (DLP) based 3D printing technologies. The effects of the structural configurations on the morphologies and mechanical properties of the DLP-based 3D printed HA scaffolds were characterized.
