Monoterpenoids are interesting hydrocarbons typically found in essential oils and have a significant role in medicinal and biological purposes. The goal of this study was to investigate the effects of two monoterpenoids, carvacrol (CAR) and menthol (MEN), supplemented with leaf meal (MOLM) based diets on growth parameters, digestibility and body composition of Nile tilapia (). Alongside the basal diet (control-T1), nine experimental diets supplemented with categorized levels of CAR and MEN at 200, 300 and 400 mg/kg individually and their mixtures (MIX) (1:1) (CAR-T2, 200; T3, 300; T4, 400 mg/kg, MEN-T5, 200; T6, 300; T7, 400 mg/kg and MIX- (1:1) T8, 200; T9, 300; T10, 400 mg/kg) were fed to the fingerlings (6.

Myoelectric biofeedback (EMG-BF) is a widely recognized and effective method for treating movement disorders caused by impaired nerve function. However, existing EMG-feedback devices are almost entirely located in large medical centers, which greatly limits patient accessibility. To address this critical limitation, there is an urgent need to develop a portable, cost-effective, and real-time monitoring device that can transcend the existing barriers to the treatment of EMG-BF.

Background: The phase 3 open-label KEYNOTE-426 study demonstrated that first-line pembrolizumab plus axitinib improved overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) versus sunitinib for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) in a global population. This subgroup analysis investigated the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab-axitinib versus sunitinib in patients enrolled in KEYNOTE-426 in East Asia (Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan).
Methods: Adults with clear cell mRCC were randomly assigned 1:1 to receive intravenous pembrolizumab 200 mg every 3 weeks with oral axitinib 5 mg twice daily or oral sunitinib 50 mg once daily (4 weeks on/2 weeks off).

Background: Infrared thermography technology is a diagnostic imaging modality that converts temperature information on the surface of the human body into visualised thermograms. This technology has the capacity to intuitively detect the presence of certain abnormal conditions or foci in the human body. In recent years, the application of this technology in medicine has become increasingly extensive, especially in the areas of auxiliary diagnosis and early screening of diseases.

The osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) is key for bone formation, and its imbalance leads to osteoporosis. Forkhead Box Protein G1 (FOXG1) is associated with osteogenesis, however, the effect of FOXG1 on osteogenesis of BMSCs and ovariectomy (OVX)-induced bone loss is unknown. In our study, FOXG1 expression in BMSCs increases after osteogenic induction.

Conventional cancer treatments often induce a sustained DNA damage response (DDR) in tumor cells, leading to therapy-induced senescence (TIS), characterized by permanent cell cycle arrest and resistance to apoptosis. These senescent cells secrete senescence-associated secretory phenotypes (SASP), which can promote tumor progression and create an immunosuppressive microenvironment. This study introduces a novel approach to enhance chemotherapy efficacy by using functionalized curcuma-derived extracellular vesicles (DR5-CNV/DOX) to target and eliminate senescent tumor cells and inhibit their SASP.

Background: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-rearranged renal cell carcinoma (ALK-RCC) is a rare molecularly defined tumor entity included in the fifth edition of the World Health Organization Classification of Tumors. It is characterized by rearrangement of the ALK gene with various fusion partner genes, which most commonly results in oncogenic fusion proteins leading to ALK activation.
Case Presentation: A 30-year-old Chinese man underwent partial nephrectomy for a left renal tumor measuring 5 cm in diameter.

Background: The "Healthy China" initiative, along with advancements in technology for cancer diagnosis and treatment, has significantly enhanced outcomes for patients with gynecologic tumors. The trends of late marriage and delayed childbirth have led to an increasing number of women diagnosed with gynecologic cancers who are seeking fertility preservation in China. This issue is critical yet often overlooked in clinical practice.

Antigen-presenting cells (APCs) process tumor vaccines and present tumor antigens as the first signals to T cells to activate anti-tumor immunity, which process requires the assistance of co-stimulatory second signals on APCs. The immune checkpoint programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) not only mediates the immune escape of tumor cells but also acts as a co-inhibitory second signal on APCs. The serious dysfunction of second signals due to the high expression of PD-L1 on APCs in the tumor body results in the inefficiency of tumor vaccines.

Current in vitro models for gastric cancer research, such as 2D cell cultures and organoid systems, often fail to replicate the complex extracellular matrix (ECM) found in vivo. For the first time, this study utilizes a gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel, a biomimetic ECM-like material, in 3D bioprinting to construct a physiologically relevant gastric cancer model. GelMA's tunable mechanical properties allow for the precise manipulation of cellular behavior within physiological ranges.

Constructing bifunctional electrocatalysts through the synergistic effect of diverse metal sites is crucial for achieving high-efficiency and steady overall water splitting. Herein, a "dual-HER/OER-sites-in-one" strategy is proposed to regulate dominant active sites, wherein Ni/Co(OH)-Ru heterogeneous catalysts formed on nickel foam (NF) demonstrate remarkable catalytic activity for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) as well as hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Meanwhile, the potentials@10 mA cm of Ni/Co(OH)-Ru@NF for overall alkaline water and seawater splitting are only 1.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is an irreversible lung condition that progresses over time, which ultimately results in respiratory failure and mortality. In this study, we found that PLAC8 was downregulated in the lungs of IPF patients based on GEO data, in bleomycin (BLM)-induced lungs of mice, and in primary murine alveolar epithelial type II (pmATII) cells and human lung epithelial cell A549 cells. Overexpression of PLAC8 facilitated autophagy and inhibited apoptosis of pmATII cells and A549 cells in vitro.
