IoT-based system of prevention and control for crop diseases and insect pests.

Environmentally friendly technologies for the prevention and control of crop diseases and insect pests are important to reduce the use of chemical pesticides, improve the quality of agricultural products, protect the environment, and promote sustainable development of crop production. On the basis of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, we developed a prevention and control system for crop diseases and insect pests with two main components: a plant protection device (the hardware) and an information management system (the software). To be suitable for both facility- and field-based production scenarios, we incorporated two types of plant protection devices, utilizing ozone sterilization and light-trap technologies.

(1) Background: Aging is a global phenomenon, and China's aging is extensive and rapid and already at the middle to upper level worldwide. Promoting social interaction and increasing positive psychological qualities in individuals are key components in helping people adapt to the physical and mental changes of the aging process. Among them, how middle-aged and older adults improve their physical and mental health through physical activity is of great concern.

Background: Temporal processing deficits regarding audiovisual cross-modal stimuli could affect children's speed and accuracy of decoding.

Aim: To investigate the characteristics of audiovisual temporal sensitivity (ATS) in Chinese children, with and without developmental dyslexia and its impact on reading ability.

Methods: The audiovisual simultaneity judgment and temporal order judgment tasks were performed to investigate the ATS of 106 Chinese children (53 with dyslexia) aged 8 to 12 and 37 adults without a history of dyslexia.

Background: The relationship between workplace incivility and psychological distress among nurses has been well-documented in the nursing literature. Management practices to reduce the negative impact are less clear. This study aimed to examine perceived servant leadership as a moderator between workplace incivility and psychological distress among nurses in Chinese hospitals.

Measuring parents' perceptions of inclusive school quality in China: the development of the PISQ scale.

The aim of this study was to develop a scale measuring inclusive school quality from parents' perceptions (Parents' perceptions of Inclusive School Quality, PISQ) and investigate the perceptions of Chinese parents of children with disabilities of inclusive school quality using the PISQ scale. The data for 78 parents of children with disabilities were used to measure the reliability and analyse the items of the PISQ scale. The data for 255 parents of children with disabilities were used to verify the construct validity and internal consistency of the PISQ scale and investigate parents' perceptions of inclusive school quality in China.

The Mediating Role of Social Support in the Relationship Between Parenting Stress and Resilience Among Chinese Parents of Children with Disability.

Few studies have examined the relationships among parents' resilience, parenting stress, and social support. This study surveyed 486 parents of children with disability in China to understand the role of social support between parenting stress and parents' resilience. The results indicated that the resilience of Chinese parents of children with disabilities was at a high level.

Getting Active with Active Video Games: A Quasi-Experimental Study.

Given the cultural emphasis on academic achievement and environmental constraints to physical activity (PA), active video games (AVGs) may be used to decrease sedentary behavior and increase PA of Hong Kong children. This study explored the potential of a school-based AVG intervention on sedentary time, PA, body composition, and psychosocial factors among children. Eighty-seven children (intervention = 30) were recruited from one primary school.

Helping Couples Connect during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Pilot Randomised Controlled Trial of an Awareness, Courage, and Love Intervention.

Background: A second pandemic of mental health problems due to COVID-19 is predicted, suggesting a demand for interventions to mitigate its impacts. This study evaluated the effectiveness of an online psychological intervention based on the Awareness, Courage, and Love (ACL) model from Functional Analytic Psychotherapy to promote closeness between couples during the pandemic.

Method: Thirty-one couples were randomised into either the intervention or control group for a 2-hour online group session.

The resilience of parents who have children with autism spectrum disorder in China: a social culture perspective.

Background: Parenting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) continues to be challenging worldwide, especially in the Chinese context where there lacks support for parents.

Method: Five parents of children with ASD of high level of resilience in China were interviewed about their experiences of raising children with ASD and influencing factors of developing resilience.

Results: Findings highlighted the process of developing resilience shaping from the interaction between different social system, including introspect and self-cultivation in micro system, acceptance of ASD, playing various roles for their children, and expanded social network in the interactions between micro and mezzo systems and accept the worst results in the interactions between micro and macro systems.

Prevalence and associated factors of prolonged grief disorder in Chinese parents bereaved by losing their only child.

In China, parents who have lost their only child and remained childless are labelled Shidu () parents. Previous research suggests high levels of psychological distress in this population, yet little is known regarding the prevalence of prolonged grief disorder (PGD) based on the new ICD-11 formulation. The present study examined prevalence rates and associated factors of prolonged grief disorder in this population.

Latent profiles of physical and psychological outcomes of bereaved parents in China who lost their only child.

: Along with the implementation of the one-child policy in China, a special group of bereaved parents called 'shiduer' (), meaning parents bereaved by the loss of their only child, emerged. Although previous research has examined the physical and psychological health of this population, individual differences in physical and psychological outcomes are still not well understood. : This study aimed to identify heterogenous subgroups of Chinese bereaved parents who lost their only child based on the physical and psychological health of this population as well as the predictive factors of each subgroup.

The relationship between these two outcomes and potential precipitators remain unknown. The current study aimed to identify classes of Chinese bereaved individuals based on prolonged grief symptoms and post-traumatic growth and to examine predictors for these classes.

Background: China is experiencing environmental issues and related health effects due to its industrialization and urbanization. The health effects associated with air pollution are not just a matter of epidemiology and environmental science research, but also an important social science issue. Literature about the relationship of socioeconomic factors with the environment and health factors is inadequate.

Does Gender Moderate the Relationship Between Social Capital and Life Satisfaction? Evidence From Urban China.

The present study aimed to test the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between social capital and life satisfaction among older adults in urban China. A quota sampling method was used to select 456 older adults aged 60 and older from 16 local communities in Suzhou city in 2015. Hierarchical multiple regression was employed to test the proposed models.

The ONOO signaling molecule is capable of triggering cascade oxidation-elimination reactions to cleave the side functionalities from the polymer chain, which induces a large alteration of the polymer amphiphilicity and further leads to controllable disassembly of their self-assembled vesicular structure.
