[Systematic review and Meta-analysis of efficacy and safety of Binghuang Fule Ointment in treatment of eczema].

To expeditiously assess the efficacy and safety of Binghuang Fule Ointment in the treatment of eczema, we screened out the papers with randomized controlled trials(RCTs) for studying the efficacy of Binghuang Fule Ointment in the treatment of eczema from CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, SinoMed, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and EMbase and then performed Meta-analysis of the included studies via RevMan 5.4. A total of 19 studies were included, involving 1 919 cases(973 cases in the experimental group and 946 cases in the control group).

Double-type-I charge-injection heterostructure for quantum-dot light-emitting diodes.

Enforcing balanced electron-hole injection into the emitter layer of quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) remains key to maximizing the quantum efficiency over a wide current density range. This was previously thought not possible for quantum dot (QD) emitters because of their very deep energy bands. Here, we show using Mesolight® blue-emitting CdZnSeS/ZnS QDs as a model that its valence levels are in fact considerably shallower than the corresponding band maximum of the bulk semiconductor, which makes the ideal double-type-I injection/confinement heterostructure accessible using a variety of polymer organic semiconductors as transport and injection layers.

Objective: Previous studies have shown the essential role of inflammation in rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (RBD). However, the association of RBD in Parkinson's disease (PD) with peripheral blood inflammatory cytokines is still unknown. We investigated the relationship between inflammatory cytokines and the clinical characteristics of PD patients with RBD.

Effects of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor subunit deletion mutants on insecticide susceptibility and fitness in Drosophila melanogaster.

Background: Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) are major excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in insects and also the target site for many insecticides. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of these insecticides is diminishing as a consequence of the evolution of insecticide resistance. Further exploration of insecticide targets is important to sustainable pest management.

Investigation on the influence of AC electric filed and KCl on the structure and gel properties of Konjac glucomannan.

The influence of alternating current (AC) electric field and KCl on the structure and gel properties of Konjac Glucomannan (KGM) were studied in this work by high-performance gel permeation chromatography (HPGPC), acid-base titration, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), simultaneous differential scanning calorimetry/thermo gravimetric analyzer (DSC/TGA) and a rheometer. HPGPC showed KGM was degraded by AC electric field and Acid-base titration showed that under the action of AC electric field and KCl KGM removed part of acetyl groups, which were consistent with the analysis of NMR. XRD and temperature sweep measurements respectively showed that the electrotreatment time and KCl concentration had important effects on the gel formation and its three-dimensional network.

Transgenic dry eye mouse models: powerful tools to study dry eye disease.

Dry eye disease (DED) is one of the most common chronic multifactorial ocular surface diseases with high prevalence and complex pathogenesis. DED results in several ocular discomforts, vision fluctuation, and even potential damage of the ocular surface, bringing heavy burdens both on individuals and the society. The pathology of DED consists of tear film hyperosmolarity and immune responses on the ocular surface.

[The Effect of Doxycycline on the Expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in Multiple Myeloma].

Objective: To investigate the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) in multiple myeloma (MM) patients, and analyze the effect of doxycycline (DOX) on the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in MM cells.

Methods: The peripheral blood and bone marrow samples of MM patients were collected, and the patients were divided into three groups: newly diagnosed group, remission group and relapsed/refractory group, while the peripheral blood samples of 34 health people and the bone marrow samples of 17 IDA patients were selected as normal control and control group. The levels of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were detected by ELISA.

[Effect of Doxycycline on Intrinsic Apoptosis of Myeloma Cell Line H929 and Its Mechanism].

Objective: To investigate the mechanism of the in vitro toxicity of doxycycline to myeloma cell line H929 and also the possible pathway involved its toxicity.

Methods: Myeloma cell line H929 was treated with DOX, MEK inhibitor U0126 or RAS agonist ML-098, either alone or in combination. Then, the expression of p-MEK, caspase-3, caspase-9 and c-Jun in H929 were used to detected by Western blot; the cells proliferation and apoptosis were detected by CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry, respectively.

Dual-energy CT perfusion imaging for differentiating invasive thymomas, thymic carcinomas, and lymphomas in adults.

Aim: To evaluate the role of dual-energy computed tomography perfusion (DECTP) imaging in differentiating invasive thymomas (ITs), thymic cancers (TCs), and lymphomas in adults.

Materials And Methods: Ninety-five patients with solid masses in the prevascular mediastinum who underwent DECTP examinations were enrolled in this study. The perfusion parameters (blood flow, BF; blood volume, BV; mean transit time, MTT; permeability surface, PS) and spectral parameters (water concentration, WC; iodine concentration, IC; normalised iodine concentration, NIC; the slope of spectral radiodensity [Hounsfield units] curve, λ) of the lesions were analysed.

Thymosin α-1 Reverses M2 Polarization of Tumor-Associated Macrophages during Efferocytosis.

Accumulating evidence suggests that phagocytic clearance of apoptotic tumor cells, also known as efferocytosis, is an immunologically silent process, thus maintaining an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). Here we report that, in the breast tumor microenvironment, thymosin α-1 (Tα-1) significantly reverses M2 polarization of IL10-producing tumor-associated macrophages (TAM) during efferocytosis induced by apoptotic cells.

Dihydroartemisinin suppresses renal fibrosis in mice by inhibiting DNA-methyltransferase 1 and increasing Klotho.

Renal fibrosis is an unavoidable end result of all forms of progressive chronic kidney diseases (CKD). Discovery of efficacious drugs against renal fibrosis is in crucial need. In a preliminary study we found that a derivative of artemisinin, dihydroartemisinin (DHA), exerted strong renoprotection, and reversed renal fibrosis in adenine-induced CKD mouse model.

[Clinical analysis of external micro-locking plate in the treatment of fifth metatarsal comminuted fractures].

Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of external micro-locking plate combined with closed reduction in the treatment of fifth metatarsal comminuted fracture with severe soft tissue injury.

Methods: From January 2018 to December 2019, 13 patients received micro-locking plate combined with closed reduction treatment due to the fifth metatarsal comminuted fracture with severe soft tissue injury. There were 11 males and 2 females patients, ranging in age from 21 to 69 years.

Changes of brain-derived neurotrophic factors in rats with generalized anxiety disorder before and after treatment.

Objective:   The aim of the current study was to investigate the association between brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

Materials And Methods: A total of sixty male adult Wistar rats with similar body weight and age were randomly divided into 3 groups the blank control group (CON, n=20), the saline control group (SAL, n=20), and the combined medication group (Deanxit +fluoxetine, DF, n=20), then rats in group SAL and group DF were prepared for model of anxiety disorder for 14 days. The body weight, center-retention time (CRT) and square-crossover number per unit time (SCN) were compared during modeling to define the anxiety of rats on day 1, day 7 and day 14; the BDNF mRNA in brain were detected by RT-PCR and the protein of BDNF in brain were detected by immunohistochemistry before and after intervention.

[Comparison between Ultrasonography and CT in Diagnosis of Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma].

Prevalence and risk factors for depression and anxiety in adult patients with epilepsy: Caregivers' anxiety and place of residence do mater.

Objectives: This study was aimed to assess the prevalence of anxiety and depression and the possible contributions of the caregiver's anxiety and depression, disease status, and socio-demographic characteristics to psychopathological comorbidities among adult patients with epilepsy.

Methods: A total of 262 participants (131 adult patient-caregiver pairs) were enrolled in this study. The Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAM-D) and the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HAM-A) were applied to evaluate the depression and anxiety status among adult patients with epilepsy and their caregivers, respectively.

Effects of typical sludge treatment on microplastics in China-Characteristics, abundance and micro-morphological evidence.

Microplastics (MPs) are emerging pollutants that are enriched in sludge. They enter soil through sludge soil amendment, landfill, and discard, which will cause inescapable environmental pollution risks. Sludge treatment technology commonly used in China include anaerobic digestion (AD), thermal drying (TD), thermal hydrolysis (TH) and aerobic composting (AC).

A human immunodeficiency virus-seronegative acquired immunodeficiency syndrome patient with opportunistic infections: A case report.

Background: In rare cases, people living with chronic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection do not develop antibodies despite demonstrable infection. Delayed or missed diagnosis of HIV infection leads to a lack of timely therapy, resulting in rapid disease progression with opportunistic infections or malignancies.
