Coal mining in arid western regions is damaging the fragile ecology, causing problems such as surface damage, vegetation destruction, and soil erosion. These issues are obstacles to the development of green coal, as mining activities can disrupt the distribution of surface vegetation, leading to its spread outside the mining area and affecting surrounding areas. Based on Landsat data, the binary pixel model was used to calculate the vegetation coverage (FVC) in mining area from 2005 to 2021.

In the process of the intelligent inspection of belt conveyor systems, due to problems such as its long duration, the large number of rollers, and the complex working environment, fault diagnosis by acoustic signals is easily affected by signal coupling interference, which poses a great challenge to selecting denoising methods of signal preprocessing. This paper proposes a novel wavelet threshold denoising algorithm by integrating a new biparameter and trisegment threshold function. Firstly, we elaborate on the mutual influence and optimization process of two adjustment parameters and three wavelet coefficient processing intervals in the BT-WTD (the biparameter and trisegment of wavelet threshold denoising, BT-WTD) denoising model.

Tunnels and shaft mining roadways are often subjected to varying degrees of asymmetric loading due to terrain relief or project excavation. In order to analyze the influence of the asymmetric degree of loading on the mechanical properties and damage rupture law of coal rock, uniaxial compression tests of coal rock under four asymmetric loading modes were carried out, the influence of the asymmetric coefficients of loading on macro- and micromechanical properties of coal and rock was analyzed, and a statistical damage constitutive model of coal and rock was established to reflect the asymmetric loading degree. The results of the study show that the peak stress of the coal rock decreases gradually with the increase in the asymmetric coefficient of loading, and the two are linear functions of each other.

With the rapid advancement of remote-sensing technology, the spectral information obtained from hyperspectral remote-sensing imagery has become increasingly rich, facilitating detailed spectral analysis of Earth's surface objects. However, the abundance of spectral information presents certain challenges for data processing, such as the "curse of dimensionality" leading to the "Hughes phenomenon", "strong correlation" due to high resolution, and "nonlinear characteristics" caused by varying surface reflectances. Consequently, dimensionality reduction of hyperspectral data emerges as a critical task.

Studying the failure characteristics of the common composite strata structure in western China is essential for evaluating stope stability and predicting coal mine dynamic disasters. To investigate the influence of different stress loading and unloading conditions on the instability characteristics of composite samples, three triaxial loading and unloading test schemes simulating different in-situ mining depths were designed. Complex triaxial tests were conducted on 12 sets of composite samples, and the bearing capacity, acoustic emission (AE) parameters and dynamic multifractal characteristics of the samples under different stress loading or unloading conditions were analyzed.

The coal's mechanical properties have a significant influence on mining safety and the mine environment. Preparing a standard sample and conducting repeat mechanical testing are challenging because the coal is primarily soft, fragmented, and rich in developed fractures. This study used nanoindentation technology, combined with X-ray diffraction, small-angle X-ray, a high magnification microscope, and mechanical parameter scale-up analysis, to study the micromechanical of three coals being dominated by heterogeneous components and pores.

This article addresses the issues of unreasonable water scheduling and high costs in coal mine shafts, proposing a hierarchical optimization scheduling strategy. Taking the water quality and quantity of a certain mining area in Inner Mongolia as the research object, it designs the objective function with the highest reuse efficiency and the lowest reuse cost of mine water resources, and establishes the constraint conditions of water quality and quantity for each water-using unit. In response to the problem that traditional genetic algorithms are prone to local optima, an adaptive autobiographical operator is proposed and improved based on Metropolis principle of simulated annealing algorithm.

To minimize errors in calculating coal flue gas adsorption capacity due to gas compressibility and to preclude prediction inaccuracies in abandoned mine flue gas storage capacity for power plants, it is imperative to account for the influence of compression factor calculation accuracy while selecting the optimal theoretical adsorption model. In this paper, the flue gas adsorption experiment of a power plant with coal samples gradually pressurized to close to 5 MPa at two different temperatures is carried out, and the temperature and pressure data obtained from the experiment are substituted into five different compression factor calculation methods to calculate different absolute adsorption amounts. The calculated adsorption capacities were fitted into six theoretical adsorption models to establish a predictive model suitable for estimating the coal adsorption capacity in power plant flue gas.
