Carbon dots have attracted widespread attention due to their excellent optical properties and so on and are therefore used in various fields such as anti-counterfeiting. There are many reports on carbon dot-based room-temperature phosphorescent materials, but there are still fewer reports on carbon dot-based room-temperature phosphorescent materials with time-dependent color-changing properties. In this work, a time-dependent color-changing carbon dot-based room-temperature phosphorescent material with the ability to change from green to blue was successfully prepared by a simple one-pot heating method using hydroxyurea as the only raw material.

Environmental pollution is escalating due to rapid global development that often prioritizes human needs over planetary health. Despite global efforts to mitigate legacy pollutants, the continuous introduction of new substances remains a major threat to both people and the planet. In response, global initiatives are focusing on risk assessment and regulation of emerging contaminants, as demonstrated by the ongoing efforts to establish the UN's Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste, and Pollution Prevention.

Mapping dynamically distributed livestock in the vast steppe area based on statistical data collected by administrative units is very difficult as it is limited by the quality of statistical data and local geographical environment factors. While, spatial mapping of livestock gridded data is critical and necessary for animal husbandry management, which can be easily integrated and analyzed with other natural environment data. Facing this challenge, this study introduces a spatialization method using random forest (RF) in the Selenge River Basin, which is the main animal husbandry region in Mongolia.

Stress relief-induced enhanced permeability is one of the crucial measures for promoting gas desorption flow and strengthening gas extraction. In order to examine the impact of stress relief and its magnitude on gas migration, this article explores the gas desorption flow during the stress relief process and elucidates the influence of stress relief degree on gas extraction. The results indicate that considering the analysis of the pore structure effect on gas seepage, the four coal samples' permeability is ranked as PDS > CSL > JZS > GHS.

Microplastics and heavy metals are ubiquitous and persistent contaminants that are widely distributed worldwide, yet little is known about the effects of their interaction on soil ecosystems. A soil incubation experiment was conducted to investigate the individual and combined effects of polyethylene microplastics (PE-MPs) and lead (Pb) on soil enzymatic activities, microbial biomass, respiration rate, and community diversity. The results indicate that the presence of PE-MPs notably reduced soil pH and elevated soil Pb bioavailability, potentially exacerbated the combined toxicity on the biogeochemical cycles of soil nutrients, microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen, and the activities of soil urease, sucrase, and alkaline phosphatase.

Spontaneous combustion of coal gangue (CG) hills has caused varieties of secondary disasters that seriously endanger the ecological environment of the world. The emission law of index gases and their oxidation kinetics during the secondary oxidation process of CG with different ranks of oxidation were studied by using the temperature programmed device and online mass spectrometer (MS). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used to reveal the changes of the CG internal active functional groups.

In situ cyclized polyacrylonitrile (CPAN) is developed to replace n-type metal oxide semiconductors (TiO or SnO) as an electron selective layer (ESL) for highly efficient and stable n-i-p perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The CPAN layer is fabricated via facile in situ cyclization reaction of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) coated on a conducting glass substrate. The CPAN layer is robust and insoluble in common solvents, and possesses n-type semiconductor properties with a high electron mobility of 4.

The utilization of lithium slag (LS), a solid waste generated during the production of lithium carbonate, poses challenges due to its high sulfur content. This study presents a novel approach to enhancing the value of LS by employing alkali fusion and hydrothermal synthesis techniques to produce zeolite A at low temperatures. The synthesis of high-purity and crystalline lithium-slag-based zeolite A (LSZ) at 60 °C is reported for the first time in this research.

The backfill mining of coal-based solid waste in goaf poses a potential risk of heavy metal pollution to the groundwater environment, and the migration behavior of heavy metals differs significantly under the disturbance of backfill mining in close-distance multi-layer coal seams and single-layer coal seams. In this study, a migration model of heavy metals after solid backfilling in the goaf of shallow-buried close-distance thick coal seams was established, and the impact of the overburden damage and the layered distribution of the filling body on the long-term migration behavior of heavy metals were analyzed. The results show that the migration of heavy metals after close-distance coal seam backfill mining exhibits a higher risk of heavy metal pollution.

Diffusive gradients in thin films (DGTs) have been well-documented for the measurement of a broad range of organic pollutants in surface water. However, the performance has been challenged by the inherent periodic concentration fluctuations for most organic pollutants. Therefore, there is an urgent need to assess the true time-weighted average (TWA) concentration based on fluctuating concentration profiles.

Earth observation by remote sensing plays a crucial role in granite extraction, and many current studies use thermal infrared data from sensors such as ASTER. The challenge lies in the low spatial resolution of these satellites, hindering precise rock type identification. A breakthrough emerges with the Thermal Infrared Spectrometer (TIS) on the Sustainable Development Science Satellite 1 (SDGSAT-1) launched by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Various studies have shown that the heavy use of pharmaceuticals poses serious ecological risks, especially in metropolitan areas with intensive human activities. In this study, the spatial distribution, sources, and ecological risks of 29 pharmaceuticals in 82 surface waters collected from the North Canal Basin in Beijing were studied. The results showed that the pharmaceutical concentrations ranged from not detected to 193 ng/L, with ampicillin being undetected while ofloxacin had a 100% detection frequency, which indicates the widespread occurrence of pharmaceutical pollution in the North Canal Basin.

Surface roughness is a crucial factor that affects the flotation performance of minerals. In this study, the effect of sulfuric acid corrosion on the surface roughness of calcite flotation was investigated through microflotation tests, scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and contact angle analysis. Microflotation test results show that sulfuric acid treatment has a serious negative effect on the floatability of calcite.
