fungi are widely distributed all over the world, mainly as plant pathogens, endophytes or saprobes from multiple hosts. In this study, the sequence data analysis based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS), partial beta-tubulin () and partial regions of translation elongation factor 1 alpha () combined with morphological characteristics was used to identify strains isolated from the diseased leaves of and , as well as some rotted leaves from Yunnan and Hainan Provinces in China as three new species, viz., , and

Species of the family Microdochiaceae (Xylariales, Sordariomycetes) have been reported from worldwide, and collected from different plant hosts. The proposed new genus and two new species, , , and , are based on multi-locus phylogenies from a combined dataset of ITS rDNA, LSU, RPB2 and TUB2 with morphological characteristics. has been collected from diseased leaves of and this is the first report of the fungus on this host plant.

The genus includes endophytes, pathogens and saprobes, with a wide host range and geographic distribution. In this paper, six strains isolated from diseased and healthy tissues of bamboo leaves from Hainan and Shandong provinces in China were classified using a multi-locus phylogeny based on a combined dataset of ITS, LSU, and , in conjunction with morphological characters, host association and ecological distribution. Two new species, and , and a new record of in China, are described based on their distinct phylogenetic relationships and morphological analyses.

A new species of , from the Sichuan Province of south-western China, is described and illustrated here. This new species has a pink corolla that is different from other species of in southwest China and, although it is morphologically similar to and , it has significant differences in the colour and shape of the corolla, the apex of the corolla limb, shape and indumentum of the filaments and a shorter pistil. A detailed description, colour photographs, distribution and habitat, as well as the IUCN conservation status, are also provided.

The fungal genus has been reported from all around the world and accommodates numerous pathogenic and endophytic species isolated from a wide range of plant hosts. Based on multilocus phylogenies from a combined dataset of genes encoding internal transcribed spacer (ITS), large subunit of ribosomal RNA (LSU rDNA), translation elongation factor 1 alpha (TEF1α), actin (ACT) and glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GPDH), in conjunction with morphological characteristics, we describe two new species and , as well as a new Chinese record . Their similarity and dissimilarity to morphologically-allied and phylogenetically-related species are also annotated and discussed.

Species of Sporocadaceae have often been reported as plant pathogens, endophytes or saprophytes and are commonly isolated from a wide range of plant hosts. The isolated fungi were studied through a complete examination, based on multilocus phylogenies from combined datasets of ITS//, in conjunction with morphological characteristics. Nine strains were isolated from , and in China which represented four species, , , , and .

Species of have often been reported as plant pathogens, endophytes or saprobes, commonly isolated from a wide range of plant hosts. Sixteen strains isolated from species of ten host genera in Yunnan Province, China, represented three new species of , , and as well as five known species , , , and . Morphological comparisons with known species and DNA-based phylogenies based on the analysis of a multigene (ITS, TUB, TEF, CAL and HIS) dataset support the establishment of the new species.

species have often been reported as plant pathogens, endophytes and saprophytes, commonly isolated from a wide range of infected plant hosts. In the present study, twenty strains obtained from leaf spots of twelve host plants in Yunnan Province of China were isolated. Based on a combination of morphology, culture characteristics and multilocus sequence analysis of the rDNA internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), translation elongation factor 1-α (), -tubulin (), calmodulin (), and histone () genes, these strains were identified as eight new species: , , , , , , , and two previously described species, and .
