Introduction: Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common cancer globally, and the relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cancer risk remains controversial.
Methods: We performed Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using publicly available GWAS data to assess the causal relationship between T2DM and GC, validated by heterogeneity and pleiotropy analyses. Transcriptomic data from TCGA and GEO were analyzed to identify common differentially expressed genes (DEGs).

Introduction: The interplay between emotional disorders and thyroid disorders has been subject to numerous observational studies, which have consistently reported associations but have failed to establish clear causal links due to the multifactorial etiology and influences. We conducted a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the genetic causal association between emotional disorders and thyroid disorders.
Methods: We employed several methods, including inverse-variance weighted (IVW), weighted median, weighted mode, and MR Egger regression.

Background: We developed the FORCE platform to overcome limitations of oligonucleotide delivery to muscle and enable their applicability to neuromuscular disorders. The platform consists of an antigen-binding fragment, highly specific for the human transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1), conjugated to an oligonucleotide via a cleavable valine-citrulline linker. Myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) is a neuromuscular disorder caused by expanded CUG triplets in the DMPK RNA, which sequester splicing proteins in the nucleus, lead to spliceopathy, and drive disease progression.

Background: Some studies have suggested that complications during pregnancy, such as preeclampsia, leiomyoma during pregnancy, oxytocin induction, and mode of delivery, may be risk factors for neonatal jaundice. Herein, we applied Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to investigate a causal association between pregnancy disorders and neonatal jaundice.
Methods: Data related to neonatal jaundice and pregnancy disorders (including pre-eclampsia or eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and gestational edema) were sourced from the FinnGen Consortium and Integrated Epidemiology Unit (IEU) databases.

Introduction: Existing research suggests an association between smoking and the incidence of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS); however, the causal relationship remains ambiguous. We employed Mendelian randomization (MR) to clarify the potential causal association between smoking and the risk of developing RAS.
Methods: We utilized genome-wide association study (GWAS) sequencing data related to smoking from the Finnish database as instrumental variables (IVs) and GWAS data for RAS from the UK Biobank (UKB) as the outcome to perform a two-sample MR analysis.

Introduction: Schistosomiasis, a tropical parasitic disease, affects 779 million people globally, with 85% of cases in Africa. The interplay between schistosomiasis and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can exacerbate health burdens, but most attention has focused on interactions with HIV, neglecting coinfections with other STIs. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to understand the role infections play in STIs within schistosomiasis-endemic populations.

Background: Some studies suggest a potential association between plasma lipidome and erectile dysfunction (ED), but the underlying mechanism and whether circulating inflammatory proteins act as mediators remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential causal relationships between plasma lipidome, inflammatory proteins, and ED.
Methods: Plasma lipidome, circulating inflammatory proteins, and ED cases were identified based on the summary data from several large-scale genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

Background: Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a climate-sensitive zoonotic disease that poses a significant public health burden worldwide. While previous studies have established associations between meteorological factors and HFRS incidence, there remains a critical knowledge gap regarding the heterogeneity of these effects across diverse epidemic regions. Addressing this gap is essential for developing region-specific prevention and control strategies.

This study employs Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to investigate the potential causal association between genetic variants associated with gut microbiota, inflammatory factors, and the risk of uterine fibroids development. We extracted data on 211 types of gut microbiota, 91 inflammatory factors, and uterine fibroids occurrence from genome-wide association studies and applied the inverse-variance weighted (IVW) method for analysis. To further assess the robustness of our MR analysis, we conducted sensitivity tests including Cochrane's Q test, the MR-Egger intercept test, the MR-PRESSO global test, and a leave-one-out analysis.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a multisystem condition that could affect the cutaneous systems, namely cutaneous extraintestinal manifestations (EIMs). It has been suggested that IBD is associated with erythema nodosum (EN), malignant melanoma (MM) and non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). However, the potential causal relationship between IBD and the mentioned above cutaneous EIMs is still unclear.
