In this study, two types of catalysts were prepared by the combination of gemini quaternary ammonium salt with two distinct species of phosphotungstic acid. Catalysts prepared by the Wells-Dawson type of phosphotungstic acid and Keggin-type phosphotungstic acid both exhibited dual-phase catalytic behavior, demonstrating both heterogeneous and homogeneous catalytic activities. In comparison to the catalyst prepared by the Keggin-type phosphotungstic acid, due to the higher size of Wells-Dawson type of phosphotungstic acid, hydrogen bonding could not effectively affect the catalyst prepared by HPWO.

What makes it more interesting is the enhanced optical properties of the ordered structures, including aggregation-induced emission (AIE). However, algorithm dictating the self-assembly of metal NCs in multicomponent environment remains largely unknown, and effective means to manipulate the self-assembly is still lacking, especially under kinetic control.

Lanthanide-containing, water-based fluids normally suffer from low photoluminescent (PL) and/or colloidal stability, which greatly hinders their applications. Herein, we report the preparation of PL fluids which contain formed europium complexes in aqueous solution. The strategy first relies on the construction of wormlike micelles by mixing a zwitterionic surfactant (tetradecyldimethylaminoxide, CDMAO) and a tridentate ligand for a lanthanide cation (2,6-dipicolinic acid, DPA) in water.

Luminescent Hydrogel Based on Silver Nanocluster/Malic Acid and Its Composite Film for Highly Sensitive Detection of Fe.

Metal nanoclusters (NCs) with excellent photoluminescence properties are an emerging functional material that have rich physical and chemical properties and broad application prospects. However, it is a challenging problem to construct such materials into complex ordered aggregates and cause aggregation-induced emission (AIE). In this article, we use the supramolecular self-assembly strategy to regulate a water-soluble, atomically precise Ag NCs (NH)[Ag(CHSO)] (Ag-NCs, [Ag(mba)], Hmba = 2-mercaptobenzoic acid) and L-malic acid (L-MA) to form a phosphorescent hydrogel with stable and bright luminescence, which is ascribed to AIE phenomenon.

A light reflection device combined with visible light spectrophotometer was used to measure the reflectance-wavelength curves of colored stainless steel after coloring, hardening and sealing. After these processes, the coordinate in CIE 1931 color coordinate system and brightness of samples were confirmed by chromatometry method, and the effects of hardening and sealing processes on color were determined. In hardening process, the thickness of coloring film increases significantly, the peaks of reflectance-wavelength curves move to the long-wave region, the hue of samples changes clockwise in CIE 1931 coordinate diagram, and the trend of saturation in hardening process is consistent with the saturation of the sample having larger potential difference.
