Minimally invasive implantation of a porous scaffold of large volume into bone defect site remains a challenge. Scaffolds based on shape memory polymer (SMP) show potential to be delivered in the compact form via minimally invasive surgery. The present study chooses poly (ε-caprolactone)-diols (PCL-diols) as the SMP to cross-link carboxyl dextran via ester bonds together with particle leaching method to yield a porous SMP scaffold.

Laboratory for Biological Effects of Nanomaterials and Nanosafety, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, No. 11 Beiyitiao, Zhongguancun, Beijing, China.

Hypoxia is an indicative feature of human neuroblastoma solid tumor. Bioimaging of hypoxic neuroblastoma cells will be beneficial for tracing and locating the tumor in vivo. In this work, we developed a hypoxic neuroblastoma cell imaging probe based on the mechanism of transglutaminase 2 (TG2)-catalyzed polymerization of fluorescence molecule-labeled peptide monomers and intracellular self-assembly of polymerized elastin-like polypeptides (ELPs) specifically for hypoxic neuroblastoma cells.

Oseltamivir phosphate (OP, Tamiflu®) is a widely used prodrug for the treatment of influenza viral infections. Orally administered OP is rapidly hydrolyzed by the carboxylesterases in animals to oseltamivir carboxylate (OC), a potent influenza virus neuraminidase inhibitor. The goals of this study were to develop and validate a physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model of OP/OC in rats and humans, and to predict the internal tissue doses for OP and OC in humans after receiving OP orally.

LncRNA MEG3 functions as a ceRNA in regulating hepatic lipogenesis by competitively binding to miR-21 with LRP6.

Metabolism

May 2019

Emergency Department, The Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, 138 Tongzipo Road, Changsha 410013, China. Electronic address:

Background: Hepatic lipogenesis dysregulation is essential for the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Emerging evidence indicates the importance of the involvement of long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) in lipogenesis. However, the specific mechanism underlying this process is not clear.
