Minimally invasive implantation of a porous scaffold of large volume into bone defect site remains a challenge. Scaffolds based on shape memory polymer (SMP) show potential to be delivered in the compact form via minimally invasive surgery. The present study chooses poly (ε-caprolactone)-diols (PCL-diols) as the SMP to cross-link carboxyl dextran via ester bonds together with particle leaching method to yield a porous SMP scaffold.

This Letter reports the first extraction of individual antineutrino spectra from ^{235}U and ^{239}Pu fission and an improved measurement of the prompt energy spectrum of reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay. The analysis uses 3.5×10^{6} inverse beta-decay candidates in four near antineutrino detectors in 1958 days.

Intracellular transglutaminase-catalyzed polymerization and assembly for bioimaging of hypoxic neuroblastoma cells.

Hypoxia is an indicative feature of human neuroblastoma solid tumor. Bioimaging of hypoxic neuroblastoma cells will be beneficial for tracing and locating the tumor in vivo. In this work, we developed a hypoxic neuroblastoma cell imaging probe based on the mechanism of transglutaminase 2 (TG2)-catalyzed polymerization of fluorescence molecule-labeled peptide monomers and intracellular self-assembly of polymerized elastin-like polypeptides (ELPs) specifically for hypoxic neuroblastoma cells.

Oseltamivir phosphate (OP, Tamiflu®) is a widely used prodrug for the treatment of influenza viral infections. Orally administered OP is rapidly hydrolyzed by the carboxylesterases in animals to oseltamivir carboxylate (OC), a potent influenza virus neuraminidase inhibitor. The goals of this study were to develop and validate a physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model of OP/OC in rats and humans, and to predict the internal tissue doses for OP and OC in humans after receiving OP orally.

Measurement of the Electron Antineutrino Oscillation with 1958 Days of Operation at Daya Bay.

We report a measurement of electron antineutrino oscillation from the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment with nearly 4 million reactor ν[over ¯]_{e} inverse β decay candidates observed over 1958 days of data collection. The installation of a flash analog-to-digital converter readout system and a special calibration campaign using different source enclosures reduce uncertainties in the absolute energy calibration to less than 0.5% for visible energies larger than 2 MeV.

Anti-phytopathogenic sesquiterpenoid-xanthone adducts from potato endophytic fungus .

A bioguided separation on the cultures of the potato endophytic fungus led to the isolation of two anti-phytopathogenic () sesquiterpenoid-xanthone adducts, namely bipolins I and J (1 and 2). Their structures were established extensive spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 1 and 2 exhibit potent inhibitory activity against with MIC values of 8 and 16 μg mL, respectively.

Terretonin D1, a new meroterpenoid from marine-derived ML-44.

A new meroterpenoid, named terretonin D1 (), and three known ones, terretonin (), terretonin A (), and terretonin D (), were isolated from marine-derived fungus ML-44. The structure of was elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS, and the absolute configuration was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. The anti-inflammation activity of - was preliminarily tested, and all of them weakly inhibited the nitric oxide (NO) production of RAW264.

Design of diversified self-assembly systems based on a natural rosin-based tertiary amine for doxorubicin delivery and excellent emulsification.

A novel rosin-based ester tertiary amine (RETA) with three hydrophilic groups and a rigid hydrophobic group was synthesized from rosin by Diels-Alder addition, acylation and esterification reactions. RETA was characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (C NMR). Results from testing surface tension, zeta potential, and transmission electron spectroscopy showed that RETA had unique pH responsiveness.

Effect of Intra-wound Vancomycin for Spinal Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Intra-site prophylactic vancomycin in spine surgery is an effective method of decreasing the incidence of postsurgical wound infection. However, there are differences in the prophylactic programs used for various spinal surgeries. Thus, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of using intra-wound vancomycin during spinal surgery and to explore the effects of dose-dependence and the method of administration in a subgroup analysis.

To explore the MRI manifestation of encephalopathy of prematurity (EOP), so as to find an access to the early prevention, early diagnosis, effective treatment and prognosis. A total of 2 718 premature infants were collected, MRI and clinical data were analyzed who were admitted to NICU of Children's Hospital of Fudan University between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2014. The manifestation and lesions distribution in MRI were analyzed.

Seco-sativene and Seco-longifolene Sesquiterpenoids from Cultures of Endophytic Fungus Bipolaris eleusines.

Two new seco-sativene sesquiterpenoids, bipolenins D (1) and E (2), a new seco-longifolene sesquiterpenoid, bipolenin F (3), together with three known analogues (4-6), were obtained from cultures of endophytic fungus Bipolaris eleusines. Their structures were established by MS and NMR data. Compounds 1-6 showed no activity to five human cancer cell lines.

A novel anionic rosin-based phosphate diester sodium (DDPDS) was successfully synthesized from raw dehydroabietic acid, a natural raw material, via four-step reactions: acylation, esterification, phosphorylation and neutralization. Nuclear magnetic resonance (C NMR) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were used to characterize the structure of target products. The aggregation behaviors in aqueous-ethanol solution and surface properties of DDPDS and its mixed systems were investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), automatic tensiometer and contact angle measuring instrument.
