Progressive osseous heteroplasia (POH) is an ultrarare hereditary disease that begins with cutaneous ossification, and progressive heterotopic ossification involves subcutaneous and deep connective tissues. We reported a case of POH in a five-month-old boy with clinical, pathological, and genetic features of POH. Most POH cases are caused by GNAS inactivating mutations, and the mutation of GNAS is also found in some other related heterotopic ossification conditions.

Objective: The aim of this study is to develop and validate a deep-learning radiomics model for predicting surgical risk factors for lumbar disc herniation (LDH) in young patients to assist clinicians in identifying surgical candidates, alleviating symptoms, and improving prognosis.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients from two medical centers was conducted. From sagittal and axial MR images, the regions of interest were handcrafted to extract radiomics features.

Aims: Oxidative stress reflected by elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the tumor ecosystem, is a hallmark of human cancers. The mechanisms by which oxidative stress regulate the metastatic ecosystem and resistance remain elusive. This study aimed to dissect the oxidative stress-sensing machinery during the evolvement of early dissemination and acquired drug resistance in breast cancer.

Purpose: This study aimed to measure and analyze the transverse indicators of normodivergent patients with different sagittal skeletal malocclusions, to explore the transverse characteristics of different sagittal skeletal malocclusions.
Methods: Lateral cephalograms and CBCT of 90 normodivergent patients with skeletal Class Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ in their permanent dentition were collected. Dolphin software was applied to measure the widths of the basal bone, alveolar bone, dental arch and buccolingual inclination angle of the corresponding teeth in the maxillary and mandibular canine, premolar and molar areas.

Background: Periodontitis and atherosclerosis are both chronic inflammatory diseases with a high prevalence. Increasing evidence supports the independent association between severe periodontitis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, in which oral microorganisms may play an important role. We aimed to evaluate the characteristic changes of salivary microbiome and metabolome in patients with carotid atherosclerosis (CAS) and periodontitis.

Liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), an emerging biophysical phenomenon, can sequester molecules to implement physiological and pathological functions. LLPS implements the assembly of numerous membraneless chambers, including stress granules and P-bodies, containing RNA and protein. RNA-RNA and RNA-protein interactions play a critical role in LLPS.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the gastrointestinal tumors with the lowest survival rate and the worst prognosis. At the time of diagnosis, the majority of patients have missed the opportunity for radical surgical resection and opt for chemotherapy as their primary treatment choice. And drug resistance emerges during the application of the most widely used chemotherapeutic regimens such as modified FOLFIRINOX regimen, gemcitabine monotherapy or 5-Fluorouracil combination therapy, which further reduces the therapeutic efficacy.

3D graphene porous materials (3GPM), which have low density, large porosity, excellent compressibility, high conductivity, hold huge promise for a wide range of applications. Nevertheless, most 3GPM have brittle and weak network structures, which limits their widespread use. Therefore, the preparation of a robust and elastic graphene porous network is critical for the functionalization of 3GPM.

Three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography is an emerging technique for assessing right ventricular (RV) volume and function, but 3D-RV normal values from a large Chinese population are still lacking. The aim of the present study was to establish normal values of 3D-RV volume and function in healthy Chinese volunteers. A total of 1117 Han Chinese volunteers from 28 laboratories in 20 provinces of China were enrolled, and 3D-RV images of 747 volunteers with optimal image quality were ultimately analyzed by a core laboratory.

Background: Remote ischemic conditioning has been found to be effective in improving functional outcomes in acute ischemic stroke. We conducted a post hoc analysis of the RICAMIS (Remote Ischemic Conditioning for Acute Moderate Ischemic Stroke) trial to determine whether long-term remote ischemic conditioning duration after stroke onset is associated with better clinical outcomes in ischemic stroke.
Methods And Results: Patients from the full analysis set were included in this secondary analysis.
Triple-positive breast cancer (TPBC) poorly responds to current standard neoadjuvant therapy (trastuzumab plus pertuzumab and chemotherapy). Our previous MUKDEN 01 study showed a promising total pathological complete response (tpCR) rate of 30.4% with neoadjuvant pyrotinib (pan-human epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor) plus dalpiciclib (cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor) and letrozole, but the efficacy remains suboptimal.
