Multisystemic smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome (MSMDS) is an autosomal dominant disorder caused by mutations in the gene, resulting in variable clinical manifestation and multi-organ dysfunction. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a rare phenotype of this condition. We describe a rare infant case of an 8-month-old boy who presented with progressively worsening dyspnea, along with intermittent episodes of respiratory distress and cyanosis since birth.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and mitigating oxidative stress is crucial in managing MI. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) plays a critical role in combating oxidative stress and facilitating cardiac remodeling post-MI. Here, we engineered Cerium oxide (CeO) nanoparticle-guided assemblies of ceria/Nrf2 nanocomposites to deliver Nrf2 plasmids.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the correlation between the tumor-stroma ratio (TSR) and peritoneal metastasis (PM) in gastric cancer (GC) and constructs a diagnostic model based on preoperative examination data.
Methods: To determine the feasibility of obtaining TSR in GC patients through preoperative examinations, the consistency of TSR between endoscopic biopsy tissues and postoperative histopathological tissues was evaluated. Additionally, the correlation between TSR and PM in GC was analyzed using Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets.

Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly aggressive malignancy characterized by a dismal prognosis. Treatment outcomes exhibit substantial variability across patients, underscoring the urgent need for robust predictive models to effectively estimate survival probabilities and therapeutic responses in PDAC.
Methods: Metabolic and immune-related genes exhibiting differential expression were identified using the TCGA-PDAC and GTEx datasets.

Diabetic cognitive dysfunction is one of the important comorbidities and complications of diabetes, which is mainly manifested by loss of learning ability and memory, behavioural disorders, and may even develop into dementia. While traditional anti-diabetic medications are effective in improving cognition and memory, long-term use of these medications can be accompanied by undesirable side effects. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find safe and effective alternative therapies.

Objectives: Despite substantial evidence that visceral obesity is an epidemiological risk factor for hyperuricemia (HUA), studies on the connection between the Metabolic Score for Visceral Fat (METS-VF) and HUA remain insufficient. This research focused on METS-VF's potential role as a risk factor for HUA.
Methods: Notably, 8,659 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2018 were enrolled in this study.

Background: Recent research suggests that omega-3 fatty acids may play a role in bone metabolism through their influence on bone mineral density (BMD) and the regulation of bone turnover markers. However, epidemiological evidence linking omega-3 intake to the risk of developing osteoporosis is still emerging and remains inconclusive. This study aims to clarify the role of dietary omega-3 fatty acids in the prevention of osteoporosis.

Purpose: Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) commonly results in significant postoperative pain. Adjuncts like dexamethasone (DEX) and tranexamic acid (TXA) are used to enhance postoperative recovery. This study aimed to determine whether the combined application of TXA and DEX could improve postoperative recovery during the first 24 hours in ARCR patients.

Purpose: To investigate whether functional radiomic features in bilateral hippocampi can identify the cognitively impaired patients from low-back-related leg pain (LBLP).
Patients And Methods: For this retrospective study, a total of 95 clinically definite LBLP patients (40 cognitively impaired patients and 45 cognitively preserved patients) were included, and all patients underwent functional MRI and clinical assessments. After calculating the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFF), regional homogeneity (ReHo), voxel-mirrored homotopic connectivity (VMHC) and degree centrality (DC) imaging, the radiomic features (n = 819) of bilateral hippocampi were extracted from these images, respectively.

Numerous studies have shown that hyperlipidaemia is closely related to the gut microbiota, and the study of microbiota in the treatment of hyperlipidaemia is undoubtedly a new target for the treatment and prevention of hyperlipidaemia. The efficacy of regulating the gut microecology and changing the structure of gut flora has been demonstrated by both western and traditional medication, biological therapy, and dietary exercise, so it is particularly important to study the relationship between gut microbiota and the treatment of hyperlipidaemia. In this review, we summarize the mechanism and relationship between the pathogenesis of hyperlipidaemia and gut microbiota, and the mechanism of hyperlipidaemia treatment by influencing the gut microbiota in various treatment modalities, which provides diversified therapeutic ideas and scientific basis for clinical treatment.

Introduction: Bacterial infection, a complex wound microenvironment, and a persistent inflammatory response in acute wounds can result in delayed healing and abnormal scar formation, thereby compromising the normal function and aesthetic appearance of skin tissue. This issue represents one of the most challenging problems in clinical practice. This study aims to develop a hydrogel dressing specifically designed for the treatment of acute wounds, providing immediate and effective protection for the affected areas.

Missing values arise routinely in real-world sequential (string) datasets due to: (1) imprecise data measurements; (2) flexible sequence modeling, such as binding profiles of molecular sequences; or (3) the existence of confidential information in a dataset which has been deleted deliberately for privacy protection. In order to analyze such datasets, it is often important to replace each missing value, with one or more letters, in an efficient and effective way. Here we formalize this task as a combinatorial optimization problem: the set of constraints includes the of the missing value (i.
