[The smallpox in the Republic of China: (1916-1949)].

This paper attends to examine the historical materials related to smallpox in Daily from 1916 to 1949, in terms of the prevalence of smallpox, diagnosis and treatment, and societal responses recorded. It was found that smallpox had many different names recorded in the newspaper, and most of them related to the symptoms and the epidemic features. It was reported that smallpox, as an epidemic, occurred almost every year from 1916 to 1949.

Grapes originated from the eastern coast of the Mediterranean, as well as Asia Minor, the South Caucasus and other regions. Grapes were introduced to the Xinjiang area of China around 600 BC through the Iranian Plateau and Central Asia. Grapes were spread from the Western Regions (a term in Han Dynasty for the area out of Yu Men Guan) to the Central Plains (Birthplace of Chinese civilisation) with the opening of the Silk Road in the Han Dynasty.

It has been widely recognized that technologies evolve with recombinant inventions. However, it remains unknown whether technologies developed using different approaches would exhibit different features during evolution. In particular, would technologies developed mainly based on accumulated experience in practices-formulas of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are typical examples of such technologies-have similar evolution features found in modern technologies? This study applied network science to explore the evolution of TCM from the perspective of recombinant inventions based on 59,063 TCM formulas documented over the last two thousand years, with each formula being a combination of components that are mostly herbs.

Formula presenting refers to the donation and submission of formula and prescriptions of Chinese medicine, organised by the Chinese government from 1954 to 1959. It was found that such donations and submissions of formula and prescriptions of Chinese medicine initiated from Sichuan, Anhui and Fujian due to their lack of medicine and physicians and the high incidence of epidemic diseases. [Research on Yaowang Temple based on local chronicles of Henan].

By looking up the local chronicles of the China Digital Chronicles Database and the China Chronicles Database, it was found that there are 450 kinds of local chronicles in Henan, of which 45 contain Yaowang Temple.According to these 45 kinds of local Chronicles, it can be seen that a total of 35 Yaowang temples were built in 25 counties (cities) of Henan, mostly distributed in the west, north and south of Henan, especially in the west. Among them, eight Yaowang temples recorded the construction time, from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China, but most of them were built in the Qing Dynasty.

Background: To compare the advantages and disadvantages of different acupuncture and moxibustion methods by network meta-analysis, in order to find out the best acupuncture and moxibustion adjuvant chemotherapy scheme of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: Randomized controlled trials of acupuncture and moxibustion adjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of NSCLC were searched in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of science, EMbase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, VIP database and SinoMed. The retrieval time was up to December 03, 2022.

The Institute of Chinese Medical History and Literature in the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine was officially established on May 28, 1982. Its predecessor was the Medical History Research Office in the Chinese Medicine Institute of the Central Institute of Health, the Editorial Office of the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Theory and Literature Research Office of the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. Background: Breast cancer lymphedema (BCL) is one of the most common complications of breast cancer. Common western medical treatments for BCL, such as western medicine and lymphatic drainage, are ineffective, and recurrence may easily occur, making treatment more challenging and placing a heavier burden on patients. Japanese Kampo medicine (medicine with Han Fang) was found effective to treat some epidemic diseases.Historical records show that Namikawa Saimin, a Kampo medicine (Han Fang Medicine) practitioner during the cholera pandemic in the period of Ansei in Japan (1858-1860), discovered that the treatment effect of croton fruit against cholera was remarkable. Another physician in Naniwa also found that satou (Zhǎ Dá, visceral stones of animals and livestock) had the same effect in treating cholera.
