Multi-constraint UAV path planning problems can be viewed as many-objective optimization problems that can be solved by meta-heuristic algorithms with good self-organizing optimization capabilities. However, such algorithms mostly use random initializing methods, resulting in low-quality initial paths that reduce the efficiency of subsequent algorithmic searches. Moreover, as the number of objective functions increases, meta-heuristic algorithms face inadequate selection pressure and convergence capability, which lead to poor solution.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disease, which mainly damages articular cartilage and involves the whole joint tissue. It has the characteristics of long course, repeated symptoms and high disability rate, and the incidence trend is gradually increasing. Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) is the main alkaloid active substance in Ligusticum wallichii, a traditional Chinese medicine, which has the effect of promoting blood circulation and dredging collaterals, and has a good effect on the treatment of early OA, but its molecular mechanism has not been fully clarified so far.

Targeting ATAD3A Phosphorylation Mediated by TBK1 Ameliorates Senescence-Associated Pathologies.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute, Medical Research Institute, Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital (Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences), Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, 510080, China.

Targeting cellular senescence, one of the hallmarks of aging and aging-related pathologies emerges as an effective strategy for anti-aging and cancer chemotherapy. Here, a switch from TBK1-OPTN axis to TBK1-ATAD3A axis to promote cellular senescence is shown. Mechanically, TBK1 protein is abnormally activated and localized to the mitochondria during senescence, which directly phosphorylates ATAD3A at Ser321.

Institute of Fruit Tree Research, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Key Laboratory of South Subtropical Fruit Biology and Genetic Resources Utilization, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Guangdong Key Laboratory of Fruit Science and Technology Research, Guangzhou 510640, China.

SO fumigation treatment (commonly known as sulfur treatment, ST) is a key method in the postharvest preservation of imported and exported fresh longan fruits, effectively reducing pericarp browning and enhancing color. Nonetheless, distinctive aromas, often referred to as "sulfur flavor", may develop in the aril during the extended preservation period. This study employed "Caopu" longan as the test material and patented SO-releasing paper (ZL201610227848.

International trade has been regarded as an essential factor in enhancing a country's productivity and efficiency. Nevertheless, developing countries squander money and resources as a result of their deficient institutional quality, impeding their ability to profit from specialization and trade. Therefore, this study intends to investigate the impact of agricultural trade liberalization and governance quality on technical efficiency in Southeast Asia's agricultural sector using balanced panel data spanning from 2002 to 2021.

State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Guangdong Key Laboratory of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Diagnosis and Therapy, Guangdong Provincial Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Department of Radiation Oncology, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, PR China. Electronic address:

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play critical roles in tumor progression by participating in the posttranscriptional regulation of RNA. However, the levels and function of RBPs in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) remain elusive. Here we identified a noncanonical RBP RAN that has the most significant role in NPC progression by a small siRNA pool screening.

Introduction: The Hainan Dong goat (DG) is a local meat breed widely raised in Hainan, China because of its good adaptability to local hot and humid weather. However, the growth rate of these DG is much slower than that of commercialised breeds improved in European countries, resulting in poor carcase characteristics, including smaller slaughter weight and carcase weight, which have become increasingly prominent. In recent decades, Nubian goats have been continuously imported into China to improve the production performance of local breeds.

  • Alfalfa hay is a key feed for dairy cows, and this study aimed to compare imported alfalfa hay from America (AAH) and Spain (SAH) on cows' lactation performance and gut bacteria.
  • Two groups of 360 mid-lactation Holstein cows were fed either AAH or SAH for 70 days, with daily milk yield and feed intake monitoring, alongside sample collections from selected cows.
  • The results showed no significant differences in milk production or nutrient digestion between the two alfalfa sources, but notable differences in rumen microbial composition suggest that while both hays are similar in feeding effects, they may influence gut health differently.

Article Synopsis
  • Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine (SP) is crucial for malaria prevention, but parasite resistance poses a challenge, particularly concerning the Pfdhfr and Pfdhps genes associated with SP resistance.
  • A study on 508 P. falciparum isolates from West Africa showed high mutation rates in these genes, with common mutations like Pfdhfr N51I and Pfdhps A437G frequently observed across the region.
  • Despite high resistance, SP may still reduce low birthweight and maternal anemia, highlighting the need for ongoing monitoring of resistance markers to guide effective malaria treatment strategies, especially in pregnant women and infants.

Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, ZBMZ, Faculty of Medicine, University of Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany; CIBSS Centre for Integrative Biological Signalling Studies, University of Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany; BIOSS Centre for Biological Signalling Studies, University of Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany. Electronic address:

Protein translocation is a highly dynamic process and, in addition, mitochondrial protein import is especially complicated as the majority of nuclear encoded precursor proteins must engage with multiple translocases before they are assembled in the correct mitochondrial subcompartment. In this chapter, we describe assays for engineered disulfide bond formation and cysteine specific crosslinking to analyze the rearrangement of translocase subunits or to probe protein-protein interactions between precursor proteins and translocase subunits. Such assays were used to characterize the translocase of the outer membrane, the presequence translocase of the inner membrane and the sorting and assembly machinery for the biogenesis of β-Barrel proteins.
