Coal is the main source of energy in China, however, in the context of carbon neutrality, how coal-resource-based regions can not only undertake the national supply of terminal energy and industrial raw materials, but also achieve regional green development is an important issue. In this paper, first, we constructed a green development indicator system for coal-resource-based regions named the green development indicator system of coal-resource-based regions (GDISCR), which could coordinate the relationship among the economy, energy, and environment when evaluating the green development level. Second, we proposed a new evaluation model named dynamic spatial TOPSIS, which comprehensively considered the spatial differences of research subjects and the differences over time in the evaluation process.

Carbon-supported Pt is currently used as catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in fuel cells but is handicapped by carbon corrosion at high potential. Herein, a stable PtNi/SnO interface structure has been designed and achieved by a two-step solvothermal method. The robust and conductive Sb-doped SnO supports provide sufficient surfaces to confine PtNi alloy.

All vanadium flow batteries (VFBs) are considered one of the most promising large-scale energy storage technology, but restricts by the high manufacturing cost of V electrolytes using the current electrolysis method. Here, a bifunctional liquid fuel cell is designed and proposed to produce V electrolytes and generate power energy by using formic acid as fuels and V as oxidants. Compared with the traditional electrolysis method, this method not only does not consume additional electric energy, but also can output electric energy.

The Chinese government actively participates in global climate governance and has proposed to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality by 2060. Due to large differences in regional development, local governments need to comprehend their own carbon neutrality status and then scientifically plan a path to achieve carbon neutrality. In this study, we constructed a new carbon neutrality capacity evaluation indicator system named CNCIS, which can dynamically reflect the balance of energy, economy and environment in the process of reducing carbon emissions.

This paper quantifies the exergy losses of coal-based series polygeneration systems and evaluates the potential efficiency improvements that can be realized by applying advanced technologies for gasification, methanol synthesis, and combined cycle power generation. Exergy analysis identified exergy losses and their associated causes from chemical and physical processes. A new indicator was defined to evaluate the potential gain from minimizing exergy losses caused by physical processes-the degree of perfection of the system's thermodynamic performance.
