Boosting the stability of cesium/formamidinium (Cs/FA) based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has received tremendous attention. However, the crystallization of perovskites usually undergoes complex intermediate phase transitions and ion loss processes, which seriously degrade the efficiency and stability of PSCs. Herein, iodine monobromide (IBr, an interhalogen) is incorporated into the precursor solution to regulate the perovskite crystallization process.

The glacial phase can be formed from supercooled liquid (SCL) in certain systems, which is called liquid-liquid transition (LLT). Revealing the nature of the glacial phase especially in a single-component system is crucial for understanding the LLT process. Here, by using flash differential scanning calorimetry and cold-field transmission electron microscopy, the structure of the d-mannitol glacial phase and the phase transition kinetics between the glacial phase and SCL were studied.

Kinetic factors frequently emerge as the primary constraints in photocatalysis, exerting a critical influence on the efficacy of polymeric photocatalysts. The diverse conjugation systems within covalent organic frameworks (COFs) can significantly impact photon absorption, energy level structures, charge separation and migration kinetics. Consequently, these limitations often manifest as unsatisfactory kinetic behavior, which adversely affects the photocatalytic activity of COFs.

Topotactic transformation is an emerging strategy for synthesizing materials with exotic functional properties. In this report, instead of producing new crystals with related structures, we exploited the topotactic transformation phenomenon to spontaneously produce compositionally diverse nanostructures on the transforming substrate. The surface of magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs) is topotactically transformed into maghemite (γ-Fe2O3).

The proceeding of electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) requires the formation of active hydrogen species for CO2 protonation, while traditional catalysts fail to balance the rate of hydrogen supply and CO2 protonation. Herein, we propose a "hydrogen on demand" mechanism, in which the polarity of the adsorbed CO2 is enhanced to allow the capture of hydrogen from water without forming free hydrogen species, realizing the matching rate of hydrogen supply and CO2 protonation. As a proof of concept, we construct Zn-N sites modified by Se atoms, allowing the proceeding of CO2RR under the "hydrogen on demand" mechanism with superior efficiency.

Na4Fe3(PO4)2P2O7 (NFPP) has been regarded as the promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, the practical applications of NFPP are hindered by its high-volume changes, poor intrinsic electron conductivity and sluggish Na+ ions diffusion kinetics. Herein, a spray-drying and solid-state reaction method have been utilized to fabricate the spherical trace amount Mg/Cu co-doped Na4Fe3(PO4)2P2O7 (NFMCPP).

Electrocatalytic synthesis of high-value chemicals has been attracting growing interest owing to its environmentally benign reaction pathways. Among these processes, the electrocatalytic reduction of nitrate (NO3-) to ammonia (NH3), known as NO3RR, and the oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMFOR) stand out as two cornerstone reactions; yet, their efficiency and selectivity pose ongoing challenges. In this study, we introduce a charge manipulation approach for the design of highly efficient electrocatalysts tailored for the simultaneous coupling of NO3RR and HMFOR.

Lithium-ion batteries are approaching their theoretical limits. To achieve higher energy density, the development of lithium metal batteries (LMBs) is essential. However, uncontrolled ion transport and unstable solid electrolyte interface (SEI) layer are key factors inducing lithium dendrite growth, hindering the development of LMBs.

High-throughput sequencing has exponentially increased peptide sequences, necessitating a computational method to identify multi-functional therapeutic peptides (MFTP) from their sequences. However, existing computational methods are challenged by class imbalance, particularly in learning effective sequence representations. To address this, we propose PSCFA, a prototypical supervised contrastive learning with a feature augmentation method for MFTP prediction.

Structural variation (SV) is an important component of the diversity of the human genome. Many studies have shown that SV has a significant impact on human disease and is strongly associated with the development of cancer. In recent years, the Hi-C sequencing technique has been shown to be useful for detecting large-scale SVs, and several methods have been proposed for identifying SVs from Hi-C data.

Cell-Penetrating Peptides (CPPs) are a crucial carrier for drug delivery. Since the process of synthesizing new CPPs in the laboratory is both time- and resource-consuming, computational methods to predict potential CPPs can be used to find CPPs to enhance the development of CPPs in therapy. In this study, EnDM-CPP is proposed, which combines machine learning algorithms (SVM and CatBoost) with convolutional neural networks (CNN and TextCNN).

All-solid-state Li-metal battery (ASSLB) chemistry with thin solid-state electrolyte (SSE) membranes features high energy density and intrinsic safety but suffers from severe dendrite formation and poor interface contact during cycling, which hampers the practical application of rechargeable ASSLB. Here, we propose a universal design of thin Li-metal anode (LMA) via a dynamic stability strategy to address these issues. The ultra-thin LMA (20 μm) is in-situ constructed with uniform highly Li-ion conductive solid-electrolyte interphase and composite-polymer interphase (CPI) via electroplating process.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) have attracted broad interest as promising sustainable materials to address plastic pollution and resource scarcity. However, the chemical synthesis of stereoregular PHAs via ring-opening polymerization (ROP) has long been an elusive endeavor. In this contribution, we exploited a robust spiro-salen yttrium complex (Y3) as the catalyst to successfully prepare syndiotactic PHAs with diverse pendent groups.

Photocatalytic nitrogen (N2) fixation over semiconductors has always suffered from poor conversion efficiency owing to weak N2 adsorption and the difficulty of N≡N triple bond dissociation. Herein, a Co single-atom catalyst (SAC) model with a C-defect-evoked CoP4 distorted configuration was fabricated using a selective phosphidation strategy, wherein P-doping and C defects co-regulate the local electronic structure of Co sites. Comprehensive experiments and theoretical calculations revealed that the distorted CoP4 configuration caused a strong charge redistribution between the Co atoms and adjacent C atoms, minimizing their electronegativity difference.
