Different angles and central axis length combinations of the reading man flap were studied to determine the optimal angles and central axis length combinations for reducing the stress on the flap tip. First, different models and corresponding finite element models of flaps with different angles and central axial lengths were established by ANSYS software. Then, skin flap transfer was achieved through forced displacement, and the stress distributions of the flap with different angles and central axial lengths under different materials were obtained.

School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Wuyi University, Jiangmen, 529020, Guangdong, China.

Facial beauty prediction (FBP) is a leading area of research in artificial intelligence. Currently, there is a small amount of labeled data and a large amount of unlabeled data in the FBP database. The features extracted by the model based on supervised training are limited, resulting in low prediction accuracy.

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is benign vascular lesions of the skin and mucous membranes that often involve the skin and mucous membranes, which often trouble patients due to its frequent bleeding. The traditional treatment is surgical removal, but its bleeding, pain, and trauma have led doctors to look for more minimally invasive methods. Between June 1, 2022 to March 1, 2024, we retrospectively analyzed 72 children with PG who were seen and treated in our department for long pulsed 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser (Gentle Nd: YAG laser) and sclerotherapy, respectively.

Environmental rules and regulations are essential instruments the government administration uses to control environmental problems in this era of advanced technologies and smooth economic growth. This paper aims to examine how environmental regulations, both mandatory and incentive-based, impact on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the presence of urbanization, foreign trade, economic growth and energy efficiency (EE) in logistics transportation. The influence of explicating factors on dependent variables, such as the highest, lowest, and mean, is estimated using the quantile regression model.

Precise and long-term electroanalysis at the single-cell level is crucial for the accurate diagnosis and monitoring of brain diseases. The reliable protection in areas outside the signal acquisition points at sharp ultramicroelectrode (UME) tips has a significant impact on the sensitivity, fidelity, and stability of intracellular neural signal recording. However, it is difficult for existing UMEs to achieve controllable exposure of the tip functional structure, which affects their ability to resist environmental interference and shield noise, resulting in unsatisfactory signal-to-noise ratio and signal fidelity of intracellular recordings.

Health state assessment method for complex system based on multiexpert joint belief rule base.

Sci Rep

January 2025

School of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Harbin Normal University, Harbin, 150025, China.

The health of complex systems continues to decline as they operate over long periods of time, so it is important to assess the health state of complex systems. Belief rule base (BRB) is widely used in the field of health state assessment of complex systems as a semi-quantitative method that can address uncertainty effectively and with interpretability. In practical engineering, BRB still has problems: the incompleteness of expert knowledge and the inconsistency of the cognitive abilities of each expert have an effect on the construction of the model and interpretability.

A novel RRT*-Connect algorithm for path planning on robotic arm collision avoidance.

Sci Rep

Zhejiang Ansheng Science & Technology Stock Co.,Ltd, Yongkang, 321314, China.

To address the limitations of the original algorithm, several optimization techniques are proposed. This article presents an original RRT*-Connect algorithm for the planning of obstacle avoidance paths on robotic arms. These strategies include implementing a target biasing algorithm, using elliptic space sampling to enhance the sampling process, the revision of the cost function to better guide path planning, and implementing an artificial potential field and gradient descent strategy to design adaptive step sizes.

Streptococcus mutans, the causative agent of human dental caries, expresses a cell wall attached Serotype c-specific Carbohydrate (SCC) that is critical for cell viability. SCC consists of a polyrhamnose backbone of →3)α-Rha(1 → 2)α-Rha(1→ repeats with glucose (Glc) side-chains and glycerol phosphate (GroP) decorations. This study reveals that SCC has one predominant and two more minor Glc modifications.

Polycystic kidney and hepatic disease 1-like protein 1 (PKHD1L1) is predicted to encode a large type I transmembrane protein involved in hearing transmission and mediating cellular immunity under physiological conditions. However, its role in cancer progression, especially in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we observed significantly lower expression of PKHD1L1 in LUAD tissues than in normal lung tissues on the basis of the integration of public datasets from the TCGA and GEO cohorts.

Under the backdrop of frequent emergencies, the rational layout of emergency service facilities (ESF) and the effective allocation of emergency supplies have emerged as crucial in determining the timeliness of post-disaster response. By adequately accounting for potential uncertainties and carrying out comprehensive pre-planning, the robustness of location-allocation decisions can be significantly improved. This paper delves into the ESF network design problem under demand uncertainty and formulates this problem as a two-stage robust optimization model.

Interplay between seismic and aseismic slip could shed light on the frictional properties and seismic potential of faults. The well-recorded 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake doublet provides an excellent opportunity to understand their partitioning on strike-slip faults. Here, we utilize InSAR and strong motion data to derive the coseismic rupture during the doublet, ~4-month postseismic afterslip, and slip distributions of two Mw>6.

Electrocatalytic gas-evolving reactions often result in bubble-covered surfaces, impeding the mass transfer to active sites. Such an issue will be worsened in practical high-current-density conditions and can cause sudden cell failure. Herein, we develop an on-chip microcell-based total-internal-reflection-fluorescence-microscopy to enable operando imaging of bubbles at sub-50 nm and dynamic probing of their nucleation during hydrogen evolution reaction.

Ion bridging enables high-voltage polyether electrolytes for quasi-solid-state batteries.

Nat Commun

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Materials Processing and Die & Mould Technology, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, PR China.

Polyether electrolytes have been widely recognized for their favorable compatibility with lithium-metal, yet they are hampered by intrinsically low oxidation thresholds, limiting their potential for realizing high-energy Li-metal batteries. Here, we report a general approach involving the bridge joints between non-lithium metal ions and ethereal oxygen, which significantly enhances the oxidation stability of various polyether electrolyte systems. To demonstrate the feasibility of the ion-bridging strategy, a Zn ion-bridged polyether electrolyte (Zn-IBPE) with an extending electrochemical stability window of over 5 V is prepared, which enables good cyclability in 4.

Vehicle speed measurement method using monocular cameras.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Computer and Information Engineering College, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Hohhot, 010000, China.

This paper proposes a method for fast and accurate vehicle speed measurement based on a monocular camera. Firstly, by establishing a new camera imaging model, the calibration method for variable focal lengths is optimized, simplifying the transformation process between the four coordinate systems in traditional camera imaging models, and the method does not need to restore the pixel coordinates to dedistortion. Secondly, based on the camera imaging model, a two-dimensional positioning algorithm is proposed.
