Intensified host-guest electronic interplay within stable metal-organic cages (MOCs) presents great opportunities for applications in stimuli response and photocatalysis. Zr-MOCs represent a type of robust discrete hosts for such a design, but their host-guest chemistry in solution is hampered by the limited solubility. Here, by using pyridinium-derived cationic ligands with tetrakis(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)borate (BAr) as solubilizing counteranions, we report the preparation of soluble Zr-MOCs of different shapes (1-4) that are otherwise inaccessible through a conventional method.

An improved concrete structure health monitoring method based on G-S-G is proposed, which fully combines an optimized Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) with an improved Self-Organizing Map (SOM) neural network to achieve accurate and real-time concrete structure health monitoring. First of all, in order to obtain a dynamic image of the crack damage region of interest (ROI) with clear contrast and obvious target, the image acquisition system and image optimization method are used to process the damaged image. Moreover, in order to realize the accurate location of crack damage, crack damage identification research based on GLCM-SOM effectively eliminates the interference of honeycomb and pothole damage on crack damage.

Liver fibrosis is a critical liver disease that can progress to more severe manifestations, such as cirrhosis, yet no effective targeted therapies are available. Here, we identify that ATF4, a master transcription factor in ER stress response, promotes liver fibrosis by facilitating a stress response-independent epigenetic program in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). Unlike its canonical role in regulating UPR genes during ER stress, ATF4 activates epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) gene transcription under fibrogenic conditions.

Autophagy, a conserved catabolic process implicated in a diverse array of human diseases, requires efficient fusion between autophagosomes and lysosomes to function effectively. Recently, SNAP47 has been identified as a key component of the dual-purpose SNARE complex mediating autophagosome-lysosome fusion in both bulk and selective autophagy. However, the spatiotemporal regulatory mechanisms of this SNARE complex remain unknown.

Hyperactivation of ribosome biogenesis (RiBi) drives cancer progression, yet the role of RiBi-associated proteins (RiBPs) in breast cancer (BC) is underexplored. In this study, we perform a comprehensive multi-omics analysis and reveal that assembly and maturation factors (AMFs), a subclass of RiBPs, are upregulated at both RNA and protein levels in BC, correlating with poor patient outcomes. In contrast, ribosomal proteins (RPs) do not show systematic upregulation across various cancers, including BC.

Early antiretroviral therapy (ART) initiation is known to limit the establishment of the HIV reservoir, with studies suggesting benefits such as a reduced number of infected cells and a smaller latent reservoir. However, the long-term impact of early ART initiation on the dynamics of the infected cell pool remains unclear, and clinical evidence directly comparing proviral integration site counts between early and late ART initiation is limited. In this study, we used Linear Target Amplification-PCR (LTA-PCR) and Next Generation Sequencing to compare unique integration site (UIS) clonal counts between individuals who initiated ART during acute HIV infection stage (Acute-ART group) and those in the AIDS stage (AIDS-ART group).
