Background: Current guidelines recommend application of the 99th percentile to determine the cut-off value on at least 120 healthy donors regardless of sex for lupus anticoagulant (LA) ratio of each step. However, a statistically significant difference between the sexes has been found for LA ratio recently.
Objectives: To clarify whether this sex difference in dilute Russell's viper venom time (DRVVT) exists in various detection systems and the necessity of setting sex-specific cut-off values.

Constructed wetland (CW) technology has attracted much attention due to its economical and environmentally friendly features. The low dissolved oxygen (DO) and low carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio in the wetland influent water affect the treatment performance of CW, resulting in a decrease in the removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen (NH -N) and nitrate nitrogen (NO -N). In order to address this problem, this study optimized the pollutants removal performance of unsaturated vertical flow constructed wetland (UVFCW) by adding sustained-release carbon sources (corn cobs + polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT)).

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting 2-3% of the global population, characterised by red scaly patches that significantly affect patients' quality of life. Recent studies have suggested that cell senescence, a state in which cells cease to divide and secrete inflammatory mediators, plays a critical role in various chronic diseases, including psoriasis. However, the involvement and mechanisms of action of senescence-related genes in psoriasis remain unclear.

Recognition plays a key role in the social lives of gregarious species, enabling animals to distinguish among social partners and tailor their behaviour accordingly. As domesticated animals regularly interact with humans, as well as members of their own species, we might expect mechanisms used to discriminate between conspecifics to also apply to humans. Given that goats can combine visual and vocal cues to recognise one another, we investigated whether this cross-modal recognition extends to discriminating among familiar humans.

Objective: Due to high workloads and insufficient counseling time in ambulatory care pharmacy, outpatient pharmacists for pediatric patients in China proposed a mobile health application (mHealth app) that they considered could provide patient counseling more efficiently. To improve it accordingly, we need to design a more specific and multi-dimensional evaluation method to obtain pediatric caregivers' evaluations of a mHealth app.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey on five dimensions (transmission, accuracy, accessibility, completeness, and experience) of the mHealth app was conducted using a random questionnaire among outpatient caregivers at a children's hospital.

Dihydroporphyrin iron (DH-Fe) is a novel plant growth regulator that plays significant roles in plant stress resistance. We found that is extremely sensitive to low temperature (LT) with a threshold of 25°C. To evaluate whether and how DH-Fe alleviates LT stress in , different DH-Fe concentrations (0, 10, 20, and 40 μg·L) were applied to estimate its effects on C and N metabolism and antioxidative capacity in grown under 20°C.

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) enhance plants' resilience against biotic and abiotic stresses, thereby playing a vital role in soil improvement and vegetation restoration efforts. PGPR assist plants in thriving under salt stress by modifying plant physiology, enhancing nutrient absorption, and synthesizing plant hormones.

Seed priming can significantly enhance the tolerance of soybean against different environmental stresses by improving seed water uptake and modulating stress-response mechanisms. In particular, seed priming with sodium carboxymethylcellulose (SCMC) and gum Arabic (GA) can support seeds to withstand extreme conditions better, promoting more consistent germination and robust seedling establishment, which is crucial for achieving stable agricultural yields. The present study investigated the effects of seed priming using a combination of SCMC and GA (10% CG) on the germination, growth, and biochemical responses of six soybean varieties under drought and flooding stress conditions.

The precise determination of tobacco leaf maturity is pivotal for safeguarding the taste and quality of tobacco products, augmenting the financial gains of tobacco growers, and propelling the industry's sustainable progression. This research addresses the inherent subjectivity and variability in conventional maturity evaluation techniques reliant on human expertise by introducing an innovative YOLOv10-based method for tobacco leaf maturity detection. This technique facilitates a rapid and non-invasive assessment of leaf maturity, significantly elevating the accuracy and efficiency of tobacco leaf quality evaluation.

Tea plant can enrich a large amount of fluorine (F) in the cell wall of its mature leaves, thus posing the risk of excessive intake of F for tea consumers. This study investigated the effect of foliar calcium (Ca) application (0.05-1 mM) on F accumulation in tea plant leaves by analyzing the association of F with cell wall materials, pectin methylesterification structure, and cell wall genes.

Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a rare complication following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), with its occurrence post-autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT) being even rarer. Research on PTLD following auto-HSCT is exceedingly scarce. Here, we present a noteworthy instance wherein a patient with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) developed PTLD, manifesting as classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) two years after auto-HSCT.
