The role of HDAC2 inhibition in cardioprotection against doxorubicin-induced myocardial injury.

Introduction: The molecular mechanisms underlying cardioprotection against doxorubicin (DOX)-induced myocardial injury are poorly understood. Histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) plays a significant role in oxidative stress, apoptosis, and mitochondrial dysfunction and is implicated in many human diseases, This study investigated the relationship between HDAC2 expression and DOX-induced myocardial injury using the rat model of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity and experiments with the H9c2 cardiomyocytes.

Methods: The rat model of DOX-induced myocardial injury was established by administering DOX via intraperitoneal injections.

Research Objective: This study is based on bioinformatics analysis to explore the co-expressed differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between atrial fibrillation (AF) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), identify the biomarkers for the occurrence and development of the two diseases, investigate the potential connections between AF and CKD, and explore the associations with immune cells.

Methods: We downloaded Two AF gene chip datasets (GSE79768, GSE14975) and two CKD gene chip datasets (GSE37171, GSE120683) from the GEO database. After pre-processing and standardizing the datasets, two DEGs datasets were obtained.

Interventional closure of artificial vascular anastomotic fistula after aortic replacement: a case report.

Two years ago, the patient suffered from type A aortic dissection. As a result, partial aortic dissection artificial vascular replacement and partial aortic arch artificial vascular replacement were performed. Six months after the operation, an anastomotic fistula in the ascending aorta was detected, which subsequently progressed to chronic heart failure of New York Heart Association (NYHA grade) class III.

The impact of a PERMA model-based positive psychology intervention on fear of stroke recurrence: a randomized controlled trial.

Introduction: This study aimed to examine the effects of a positive psychological intervention, grounded in the PERMA model, on fear levels, psychological capital, overall well-being, and quality of life among stroke patients.

Methods: A single-blind, two-arm randomized controlled trial with a repeated measures design was conducted at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from January to December 2023. A total of 125 patients experiencing fear of stroke recurrence were randomly assigned to either the intervention group ( = 63), which received a positive psychological intervention based on the PERMA model, or the control group ( = 62), which received standard care.

Emotional resiliency and life satisfaction among teachers of Chinese as a foreign language: mediating chain model with grit and employability and gender moderation.

Objective: To investigate the relationships between emotional resilience, grit, employability, and life satisfaction among Chinese as a Foreign Language (CFL) teachers in China, with a focus on gender differences.

Methods: A sample of 1,003 CFL teachers participated in a survey assessing emotional resilience, grit, employability, and life satisfaction. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and mediation and moderation models with the PROCESS macro.

Linking air pollution appraisal to EFL teachers' negative emotion via mental effort: the moderating role of working memory capacity.

Based on Cognitive Load Theory, this study developed a moderated mediation model to examine the relationship between English as foreign language (EFL) teachers' air pollution appraisal and negative emotions. Specifically, it hypothesizes that air pollution appraisal significantly increases the mental effort of EFL teachers, which in turn leads to the manifestation of negative emotions. Additionally, the study introduces the concept that the working memory capacity of EFL teachers can negatively moderate the impact of increased mental effort on their emotions, effectively attenuating the overall mediating effect.

Focusing on a sample of middle school students, this study examined the impact of perceived parental views of failure on academic resilience, as well as the mediating role of growth mindset and the moderating role of parental involvement in education. A total of 2,546 Chinese middle school students were recruited from the Beijing, Fujian, and Guizhou regions to complete a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) in SPSS 26.

Enteral nutritional support for an elderly critically ill patient with gastroesophageal reflux disease and situs inversus totalis: a case report.
