Electronic address:

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) has strong carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, and teratogenicity even at low concentrations, presenting a major risk to food safety and human health, hence, it is crucial to develop a sensitive detection technique for AFB1. Consequently, cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots conjugated with AFB1 aptamers serve as fluorescent signal probes, whereas FeO@UiO-66-NH nanocomplexes are employed as magnetic carriers and fluorescence quenchers. FeO@UiO-66-NH reduces background signal interference, thereby enhancing detection sensitivity and Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) efficiency.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARG) pollution in poultry farming environments has become increasingly critical, primarily driven by the widespread use of antibiotics in animal husbandry. Prolonged antibiotic use has led to the emergence of ARGs and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, spreading via horizontal and vertical gene transfer. The complexity of ARG pollution in poultry farming arises from the unique farming practices, physiological characteristics of poultry, and manure management methods, with manure, wastewater, and air serving as significant vectors for ARG dissemination.

Minimal study focused on the association between mixed pollutants in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) and their reproductive health risks. Utilizing a novel quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) integrated machine learning algorithms, we evaluated the mixed reproductive health risks associated with phthalates (PAEs) and organophosphates (OPEs) exposure by assessing the affinities of these compounds binding to estrogen receptors (ER) and androgen receptors (AR). The mixed toxicity equivalent factor (TEF) and mixed toxicity equivalent quantity (TEQ) by the QSAR model were all smaller than the sum TEF and TEQ of individual PAEs and OPEs, which may be due to the antagonistic effect of PAEs and OPEs monomers on reproductive toxicity.

Deep photocatalytic NO oxidation on ZnTi-LDH: Pivotal role of surface hydroxyls dynamic evolution.

J Hazard Mater

January 2025

Research Center for Carbon-Neutral Environmental & Energy Technology, Institute of Fundamental and Frontier Sciences, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu 611731, China.

Surface defect engineering has been regarded as an appealing strategy to improve photocatalytic performance, but defects are susceptible to inactivation and thus lose their function as active sites. In this study, we successfully tailored and identified the dynamic evolution of surface hydroxyl defects over ZnTi-layered double hydroxide (ZnTi-LDH) photocatalyst. The enrichment of surface hydroxyl electrons and the dynamic circulation of hydroxyl defects result in enhanced separation and transport capabilities of photogenerated carriers, thereby ensuring the perpetual activation of small molecules into •O and •OH.
